Hayley sang "I say Grace "as the last song She said when she sings that song she feels uplifted, and that was how she felt at the moment.
the words do seem appropriate I say Grace for my lucky stars that shine
" I look back on the road i have travelled down" I say Grace .
Of course it wasn't the last song and Hayley sang Ava Maria as an Encore Belinda

Belinda, Here's a straight question (or two!) It might be a difficult one to answer too. I hope you don't mind me asking this question. I'm just a bit curious and would appreciate your thoughts on this... To your knowledge has Hayley ever outwardly professed a personal Christian faith? I know songs such as 'Amazing Grace' have been sung so many times, by a lot of different people, but to me, Hayley's rendition is always conveyed as being heart felt. Songs such as 'I Say Grace' or indeed, 'Prayer' are similar. Hayley always seems to sing these songs with some real meaning. Indeed these songs are "uplifting" and very spiritual. Do you think Hayley sings these songs as an expression of personal faith, or do you think she sings these songs "just for the music"? Do you know whether Jill or Gerald have expressed their thoughts on spiritual matters? Andrew

In this picture although its not very good is Hayley her tour manager,Gerald ,Fiona and Ian see what i mean Roger. Second picture is the Sales Table's It was a good move to say she would be signing things as it was meet with applause and as you can see more sales. Sorry these pics are not good had to take my old camera with no flash. There was another reason that there won't be many pictures of fans and Hayley and hes standing behind Her,It's not often the people of Christchurch get the chance to have there picture taken with our own International Star. He made her feel uncomfortable and she couldn't be herself. ,when it was my turn she stood up as mum asked if we could have a pic taken then Hayley remembered she shouldn't and turned and looked at him, then back at me ,I told her it's ok, bet she thought she was back at school. Ok he's probably a real nice guy , But not the Hayley people we're used too Belinda

He needs to learn a thing or two about how Hayley operates, LOL. Reminds me of what happened at HMV in London and from all accounts in Hong Kong too. What a pity Hayley felt restricted in her home town, maybe he was concerned aboiut Hayley's safety by sticking so close? Gosh, I hope it's not like that and I hope it's not a sign of things to come... Cheers, Dave

To your knowledge has Hayley ever outwardly professed a personal Christian faith? Andrew Yes, she has, Andrew. She is Anglican. I say that merely because she has stated it openly on live television (in America), otherwise I would not disclose it. In fact, I wouldn't know! Her beliefs, and other aspects of her private life, are something we prefer not to discuss too much here. Interesting to some though they might be, we prefer to respect her privacy. Roger

Hi Dave, Yes, apparently that is her current tour manager. Admittedly the crowds look very large but, if Hayley's discomfort was caused by him,...... Mmm. There are similarities between the events in Christchurch and those at HMV last year but the big difference is, they were HMV security staff who were used to "protecting" the huge pop bands who do signing sessions there. They probably had little experience of people like Hayley or, more to the point, people like Hayley's fans. Her own tour manager should have known better. Actually Belinda, perhaps you Mum took the pics. In that case, was it you in the crowd causing trouble? Mmm, now I understand! Roger

Haha , the people getting things signed were in a nice orderly line, I don't think he needed to be so close and Hayley was perfectly safe . if he'd just been an employed guard ,i'd understand but he's part of the team he needs to blend in and not stand out at being different.

Hi Ross, That's a lovely poster and great souvenir to remember the evening by! I have a number of posters from the 'Pure' Tour- some of which are German. One of them is unusual in that Hayley has signed it as 'Love Hayley Westenra xxx' (unusual to see Hayley writing out her full name) I don't question it's authenticity, because a reliable contact in Germany arranged for it to be signed. Maybe Hayley started off signing everything like that, but she soon found that she was getting through too many marker pens! Heh! Heh! Andrew

I don't mean to put any doubts in your mind, Andrew, but the first thing Hayley signed or me was in December 2003. Even in those early days, she just signed "Love Hayley xxx". I have never known her include her surname. Has anyone else?

Roger Hi all, if I remember well, in one of the TV-shows in US, UK or Asia there was a discussion with the interviewer and Hayley was given a quite clear answer about this question about her relegion ... Greetings, Lothar

I have never known her include her surname. Has anyone else? Roger Hmm... interesting you should say that Roger... I'll see if I can arrange to take a digital photo of the poster (it's far too large to fit on the scanner) and then reduce the size of the jpeg and post it up on the Forum for the "handwriting experts" (graphiologists?) to scrutinize... Indeed it would seem that either I own a "genuine rarety" of an autograph, or someone has sunk to the lowest possible levels and signed it on "behalf" of Hayley- in which case they still got the "kisses" right which look a bit more like diagonal "T"s than "X"s (if you know what I mean gov?) I guess I'll have to have the poster "dusted" for Hayley's fingerprints!!! Incidentally, I think there's a bit on the 'Live from NZ' DVD where Hayley signs her name backstage on a wall along with a smiley face... as "Hayley Westenra" I'll have another look. The autograph is in red marker and looks just like Hayley's handwriting to me... It's a huge poster and maybe Hayley thought that she should use up more room. I only wish I could have been there to witness what actually happened... Regards, Andrew (the "Autograph Anorak")
