Hi everybody, Here's some more exciting news about "Shadows from the Sky". In addition to this action/thriller movie featuring Hayley, the producers are planning to work on a documentary about Hayley. Tristan said: "I decided when I was young I would either be an airline pilot or go into the film business. "So I thought time for a new job. "Running a film production company is a lot harder than being an airline pilot. "There are so many different facets." The team at Fact Not Fiction Films employs three full time staff, as well as numerous contractors. Other projects in the pipeline include a documentary on Hayley and a feature film called 31 North 62 East. Tristan plans to start work on the film in July and will shoot around the Horsham area. Anyone who is interested in playing parts in the film is welcome to contact the company. And film and media studies students from Collyers in Horsham will be visiting the set to find out more about the industry. Tristan added: "You only live once in life and if you have a good idea or a dream you have got to make it happen. "People should just do and figure out afterwards. He who dares wins as they say." The company is also looking for investors for its projects.
Stephany

Thanks for finding that, Stephany - I thought if anyone could track it down you'd be able to - it sounds exciting. Incidentally, I was the person who asked you if Hayley would be signing at Buxton - sorry if I startled you, but you were the only person from HWI I recognised from your avatar. I think it was Grant who was with you who gave me the answers, so thanks to both of you. Best regards Colin

Hi Colin, Yes, I remember you very well. I'm sorry if I looked surprised in Buxton. It was actually the third time of the day I was seeing someone coming to say "Hi" just because they recognized my avatar on the forum (even though two of them never registered on HWI - I hope they will now : . Anyway, now that the cat is publicly out of the bag - I can also add that pre-production on "Shadows from the Sky" (slated as an action/thriller film) is due to start in April 2009. I contacted the producer of the film who confirmed Hayley's attachment to the project and will keep us informed especially after Cannes. Best wishes, Stephany

Interesting... What I'm wondering is, is Hayley going make a cameo as in American Dreams, or is she really going to have a part in the film? The passage didn't really make it too clear by just saying 'will showcase a performance from New Zealand singer Hayley Westenra'.

Hello everybody! This is really exciting. I'm wondering whether Hayley will actually appear in the film or just sing on the soundtrack, but I'm sure we'll find out in due course. I'm looking forward to the documentary too. Richard

Hi Richard, Stephany and everyone As this is all about the effects of air travel on health, and with the amount of flying Hayley does, she may well have an active part in the production. If she's there and in it, well, she may as well sing the soundtrack as well! Best wishes Grant

Yes Grant, she does get a lot of flying in, and her globetrotting ways were even celebrated in the form of a "SkyBelle" line of travel accessories. Remember that? Whatever her involvement amounts to, let's hope Air New Zealand doesn't get upset over anything if she still wants the best seats!

If she's there and in it, well, she may as well sing the soundtrack as well! Best wishes Grant Hi Grant, It would not surprise me either, if Hayley had an active part in the production. She has commented many times in interviews (and I suspect in her books) about the adverse effect air travel has on her voice and how she has to go to great lengths to protect it but she has i think always put this down to the air conditioning. Now, it seems, there is increasing evidence that toxic engine fumes may be involved too and, of course, Hayley would be an obvious person to discuss this and to film on board an aircraft. There are cannot be many well known people who have travelled on so many of the longest aircraft flights possible (25+ hours each, NZ to UK) and who will have to continue doing so. I think Hayley will have strong and highly relevant views on this subject - it would be a waste if she was not included in the actual production. And I wonder if the documentary will include some aspects of this too? All guesswork of course... but there quite a few clues pointing to a greater involvement by Hayley than in, say, American Dreams. She is in almost a unique position among well known personalities to comment on this phenomenon, especially as it may affect her artistic performances. I would not be surprised to see Hayley pop up in TV News interviews at some point as this subject seems to be getting more and more newsworthy as time goes on and this film production company has been a driving force. Colin, this was an excellent find! Cheers, Dave
