Stephany,
Thanks for posting that press release. It looks like we'll be in for a treat with the performers at the Classical Brits no matter who else is announced. Where else would you see such luminaries as Sarah Brightman, Andrea Bocelli, Nigel Kennedy et al in one show? My guess is you'd have to do a lot of travelling and spend a lot of money to see each of them individually, making May 8th a very special night.
Looking forward to seeing you in Buxton.
James

For an official announcement, this one is full of inaccuracies. First it states that the Classical Brits will be held on May 15 at the Royal Albert Hall (while up till now it has been advertised as taking place on May 8); then at the end it says a broadcast of the event will take place on Thursday May 15, while on the same page at the right it says: Televised in the UK Sunday 11th May ..... Are they engaging in an April Fools prank? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGerrit

Well done Jim. I knew you'd see sense eventually! I believe that makes 24 of us and I look forward to seeing you there.
Please get there early if you can (before 5pm) to see the artists arriving for the photoshoot. That is quite an event in itself!

Hello Everyone, From Xtra, here comes an article supporting Hayley and asking Kiwis to vote for our favorite entertainer! nz.entertainment.yahoo.com/080403/7/4qev.htmlVOTE! Hayley Westenra in the running for Brits glory By Yahoo!Xtra Christchurch-born singing sensation Hayley Westenra is a force to be reckoned with in the music world. And now Hayley's album Treasure, released in May 2007, has been nominated for Best Album at this year's Classical Brit Awards taking place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 8. This particular award is voted for by the public online, but in previous years it was only open to people in the UK. This year people around the world can cast their votes, so get in behind our local girl done good and vote for Hayley's album Treasure to take out the title! The award has been regularly won by Welsh singers as Wales seems to get right behind their own when it comes to things like this. Westenra apparently only just missed out two years ago, which is not bad for a Kiwi. Over the course of three albums and several years Hayley Westenra (19) has done enough to make most people feel like underachievers! From singing with Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras and Bryn Terfel to performing for Tony Blair, George Bush and the Queen, Hayley's beautiful voice has taken her around the world to widespread acclaim. If the girl with the perfect pitch does win she'd be the first New Zealander to be awarded a Classical Brit, so give her your vote and give the Brits a taste of Kiwi! People can vote at www.classicalbrits.co.uk and it closes on the 11th of April. Dori
