Welcome back Stephany! We've all been keeping the forum warm for you while you've been away in Ireland, but this thread's red hot! France seems a much nicer place again now you're home! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLove, Richard

Hello all, Thank you for your very kind words everyone! Grant, your last message was very heart warming...thanks for caring so much! I just re-read the whole thread again and will post my comments in this message below. PS. Does this apply only to French soil? Would Hayley be allowed to sing live at the two matches in Edinburgh and Cardiff? If the decision was taken by the organising committee, it will apply to all the matches. PPS. If they are playing a recorded anthem, I sincerely hope that it will be a Hayley recording. I also hope so, although it seems that a French choir will sing all the anthems according to the press reports. This is not acceptable! I would like to approve but I seriously don't think it's the reason. The All Blacks are not the only victims - the other teams (including the French!) are also penalized. The journalists from TV3 said it very well at the end of the news video. Hayley is totally unknown in France so I'm not sure the organizing committee wanted to limit the 'impact' she has on her team simply because they don't realize the fact that she has an impact on the All Blacks. They probably took the decision before realizing how important it was for the Kiwis to have Hayley on their side. I'm almost certain the decision wasn't against Hayley, nor against the All Blacks. But hey, sadly, we French don't like to change our minds I now personally hope the French get knocked out in the first round. I understand your disappointment but that's not really fair!! Our team is very well-prepared and I seriously think they can go to the finals even with Hayley singing for the All Blacks! We should all keep our fingers crossed for a final between NZ and France WITH Hayley, just to see what happens. If I had my say about the French it would not be nice. So in respect to Stephany and any others I will keep quiet. Lets just say I am not suprised. Please let's not overreact at this point!!! This decision was made by the officials and not by France generally. I'm sure many French will regret this decision as well because that means that nobody will sing any anthem live, not even the French one. Thomas Thank you for your above comment, Thomas. I second every word of it. That would be fantastic. All our hearts will go to her during this moment! A re-release of 'Treasure'? Very interesting. I look forward to hearing more about it. WHAT ?? My sister will be amazingly pleased to hear the news. I personally hope it will be before Sept 14 as I'm leaving to Manchester on this specific day I know that there are lots of music festivals organized just for the Rugby World Cup but saw no mention of Hayley so far. Still Hayley will have fun performing at the concerts around Paris!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes to you all, Stephany

Hi Stephany Welcome back from your break. Reading on another thread about it, it seems you had a great time touring round Ireland. Dublin is one of my favourite cities. Paris is also one of my all time favourite cities May I also add that its really good and sort of reassuring to have you back with us. The forum isnt quite the same without you Sorry that you have had to come back to some disappointing news regarding Hayley not being able to sing. However, I look at it this way - this could well have happend no matter who the host country, it just so happens it was France this time. I'm not a Rugby fan and know nothing about the sport - sorry. I'm only disappointed because I knew it was something that Hayley really wanted to do and I personally have nothing against France. So Stephany, you continue to enjoy watching the Rugby and supporting your team and be proud to tell Hayley that you've come from Paris to see her. Someone has said it already but, I'll say it again, "it is Hayley were dealing with here" I'm really looking forward to meeting you on Friday and once again, welcome back. Lots of love Mark x

Hi Mark, Thank you for your very comforting words. You are right, this is Hayley we are talking about, so I shouldn't worry too much about her reaction knowing that I'm from France. Otherwise I'll just have to hide behind you guys I hope to attend her show/event in Paris and spread the word around me! After her performance, all the French will deeply regret not seeing her before the matches. It would be great if some of you could come in Paris too if she comes over Lots of love, Stephany

Hi again everyone, I was very curious to know how the French would react to the announcement that all the anthems would be pre-recorded. Everyone is very disappointed. In fact, most of the French fans are contesting the decision (for example, see HERE but it's all in French!). They say that the French team will be very penalised because we absolutely love singing 'La Marseillaise' accompanied by live performers or an orchestra - we are very passionate about our hymn and it would have been an excellent build-up before the match. Those opinions won't change anything but I personally feel quite relieved to see that most of my countrymen don't support the decision to 'ban' all performers. Best wishes, Stephany

I found an article about the Choir of the French Republican Army. They have already pre-recorded all the anthems for the Rugby World Cup. Below is the article I just translated. ) will join the Rugby World Cup opening match on September 7 at the Stade de France. They will also be singing for the final on October 20. All the national anthems have been pre-recorded by the Choir and will be played before each match.
Stephany

It's appalling that a few "old f**ts" can be allowed to make decisions for such major events like this one and get it completely wrong! That's the way to start a war! Now, let me see, where did I leave my battleship!! Love Grant

Below is a reader's comment published in today's 'The Press' (Christchurch, NZ). Stephany What an outrageous slur! At best, libellous and at worse, a case for public flogging. I'm sure all HWI members who have met Hayley would say 'fame HAS NOT gone to her head'. Unless I'm mistaken, Hayley is disappointed there are no live anthems for all singers/teams and not just for herself or the All Blacks. It's the norm for live anthems before rugby union games in Britain as it really adds to the occassion. Many players have started blubbing as they sing. On a separate note, I thought the French only banned certains things. Like British Beef. Maybe because Hayley has bought a place in London, they think she's a Brit. Regards Bill

Whoever Nicholas Sutton is he just doesn't have a clue! I wish people wouldn't jump in with both feet and make comments about something or someone that they have absolutely no knowledge about! The phrase "It is better to say nothing and let people think that you are an idiot rather than open your mouth and prove it" comes to mind! As someone on this forum might be heard to say Grrrrr Best wishes Grant
