Hello Libby! That list is probably only a guess by the orchestra for promotional purposes. I can't believe Hayley would have finalised her set list in October, so I'm sure there'll be a few surprises. Richard As you said Libby "9 songs would be amazing" but I hope you get more. I have always felt that I could go on listening to Hayley all night. I hope you get to meet Hayley because hearing her live then meeting her is truly amazing. I was so thrilled for you when I saw she was to perform at a venue you could go to.

Libby, I think we will get a full concert as in about 18 songs. Maybe longer if she brings an unknown male vocalists to duet with or the orchestra does a few interval numbers so she can rest her voice for a moment. The max is probably 24/25 songs like she did for Union Chapel.
From other concerts I've been to, which is mostly pop/rock concerts, they all do this highlight thing. It usually is in video format for pop singers where they play 5-10 seconds of a few of their big hits and the announcer says, "and new music from blank artists' new album". It's to whit the fan's appetite, and give you an idea of where the concert is going for singers with extensive careers. I think this is the same thing without the 30 second video commercial.
And personally, I think the set list is finalized, except for maybe the Hayley only parts like "Sonny" or "Talk to Me". The orchestra players have to practice the songs before the big opening! I believe Hayley's management said which songs could be announced in the statement, so as to keep any surprises in the set list...a surprise. But we shall see. Alicia

they play 5-10 seconds of a few of their big hits Alicia I think a great way for Hayley to start the concert would be with a medley of say Pokarekare Ana, Hine E Hine and E Pari Ra. I would think something like the "Spiritual Medley" from "Live in New Zealand" would go down well to start the second half. But that is probably all too old hat. Maybe a Christmas medley instead or a folksy one.

Oh, but, Richard, remember she was practicing Christmas music before this was announced, too. So I'm guessing at least the Christmas songs are accurate, especially the newer one, It's Christmastime, which I don't remember ever hearing before (the title isn't familiar to me). And I seriously hope she does sing Amalia and I Dreamed a Dream. I bet she will; those sound like songs she would choose, and especially Amalia doesn't sound like one the orchestra would choose without input from Hayley. Well, you never know, since the conductor probably has her albums. But she's never recorded I Dreamed a Dream, so unless he's watching all the concert videos we do, he probably doesn't know she's been singing that in her concerts the last few years. Frenchie, I certainly hope you're right, that this list is just a preview, so to speak. I doubt the concert will be as long as the Union Chapel one. I think that was one of the longest ones she's ever done, and I doubt she'd do one that long in the US. Maybe more like 15, but even that might be pushing it. Maybe 12. It's possible that she might do more songs similar to the UC setlist, just not as many. I doubt she'll do Talk to Me or Sonny. River would be more likely in December. Jim, I would think since she hasn't performed in the US in a full concert in a very long time (if ever, since she was only an opening act for Il Divo), it's entirely possible that she would sing Pokarekare Ana, and/or Hine, but not E Pari Ra, because that was on the UK version. It's not likely she'd sing anything that wasn't on a US release, except for those songs she hasn't recorded at all (IDAD). I wonder if she would also include Amazing Grace. Anything would do really, since she's barely sung more than one song in the US since 2007 (once each in 2008 and 2011, and several times in 2012; I guess it was about 4 songs in New York, and 3 or 4 in Boston?). We mainly just see Paradiso and Winter Magic songs on this list because, Paradiso is the only major album she's released since 2007. Obviously the Christmas songs are from Winter Magic, mostly. I do wonder if she'd include something like Dream a Little Dream, since that song is well-known in the US, as well, and it's her most recent album. I definitely won't cry if she doesn't sing it, since there are other songs I'd much rather hear. Then looking at the one Odyssey song, My Heart Belongs to You, makes me wonder if there might be more songs like this, such as Never Saw Blue, Who Painted the Moon Black, or What You Never Know (again, using the UC concert as an example). Maybe I should start letting myself think about these things more often, maybe it'll help me not be so nervous about everything else. Maybe.

Hi Libby and everyone
I'm sure you're right. I think Hayley would fairly quickly choose the core songs for the concert, then probably wait until more details were forthcoming about the venue; running times and so on before adding more songs.
The longest! Recent concerts have been 14/15 songs plus encores - usually two and occassionally three. HOWEVER, the length of the Union Chapel concert was seen as a reward for the lack of concerts in the UK. So for Madison, anything is possible. Also her song choice for UC included requests, some of which came from her American followers. I'm sure Hayley will take all these factors into account when preparing her set list and I have no doubt that you will all have ONE VERY MAGICAL EVENING!
Best wishes Grant

Hi, In just a day or so the 30-day countdown to Madison will begin. The excitement begins to build. Am beginning to wonder all sorts of things such as this. How successful will Libby be in gathering a good-sized group of Hayley fans to sit together? Will any of the musicians in the orchestra have played for Hayley 10 years ago? Will she get to meet up with James Doing? What percentage of seats are sold? Etc, etc. Lots to watch for. Chances are good that we will get some nice detailed reports of the concerts there. Seeing who is going to Cork, it is a foregone conclusion that there will be nice detailed reports from there. BobS

I might guess she would include stuff that has done well in the USA. So perhaps Scarborough Fair and Lascia ch'io pianga. If you are very lucky she will sing O Holy Night. And perhaps that Maori carol she sometimes does, usually combined with something else like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I must admit I don't know what "It's Christmastime" is either. Something new from Hayley for sure. Another wonderful chirstmad song is Hayleys version of "Love Came Down at Christmas". You never quite know what you are going to get. Hayley likes t throw in the odd surprise. That's what makes these shows so fascinating.

I might have to write the songs down. I do tend to remember things like that pretty well, but I'm afraid I'll be too excited/nervous to absorb it. LOL My sister is always surprised after skating events when I remember what almost everyone skated to. I can still remember some they did at our first live competition in 2008! And our first Stars on Ice in 1999! All right, moving on, back on topic...
Remember, some Hayley fans will be up at the tables... and I have to admit now that, so will I. As enthusiastic as I was about us all sitting together... Pete from the official forum told me he ordered the table tickets, and offered me the other one if I wanted it. I thought about it for a few days, and I thought of that worry that having purchased a general admission ticket doesn't even guarantee you a seat! Also, the thought of seeing Hayley as close as possible was extremely tempting. I feel as long as I'm doing this, I might as well treat myself as much as possible. So, I took his offer, and will be sitting with Pete. But, isn't Larry at a table, too? We might be near him, too. I hope that doesn't disappoint the other fans too much, but some of us will see each other at the hotel. We can still meet up outside beforehand, and maybe even after to try to find Hayley. I'm assuming Larry would be the most knowledgeable one of how and when to find Hayley afterwards. Also, am I right to assume that a signing session would occur in the venue's lobby?

Ummmm. tables provide a reasonably stable surface for a small video camera.
A wide based tall glass with a napkin folded on top to give the camera tilt and insulation from direct table noise.
or a wine chill bucket, make sure the camera can't slip into the water, or just use a proper tripod, gorilla pod or camera clamp, put a napkin / scarf around it to hide its obvious purpose.
If possible leave the viewing screen closed or switched off (It can really distract and annoy other people and attract unwanted attention) a little bit of black tape or a bit of blu tac over your power indicator leds.

Oh, comet, I don't know about all that. I don't want to risk getting in trouble! Anyway, besides distracting others, that would distract me as well. Here's what the Orpheum Theatre's website says about it: So, I won't get an e-mail, but the rest of you here, as well as Pete, should. So, be sure to let me know. I wonder how long before the show they'll send it? The day before? Also, I'm guessing Hayley would allow photo taking, but maybe not videos? I seem to remember someone saying she commented on this once, and it wasn't necessarily against it, but to me it sounded as though she would prefer that we not. It would be nice to get a video for you all, especially the newer song, but I'm just afraid it would be too distracting. I found struggling to get a good photo at Josh Groban's concert difficult enough. I didn't get a good photo. Lighting and movement made it way too hard. Maybe if I do it at all (if it's allowed, that is), I'll do it during the Christmas Song, which is not my most favorite Christmas song, performed by anybody, even Hayley. Still, the songs aren't the whole point, but seeing Hayley live and up close is!

I don't think I'd me taking photos on my first Hayley concert either Hayley. Takes a bit of concentration to get a decent video. And you want to concentrate on Hayley. Left to Hayley, she usually doesn't mind provided you don't use flash photography which is very distracting for her and her musicians.

Hello Libby! I remember an outdoor concert at Hampton Pools a few years ago. When he introduced her, the manager of the pools said that Hayley had specifically requested that no photographs be taken during her performance. Before she started singing, Hayley shot him down in flames and told the audience she didn't mind at all! Richard
