So, fellow concert-goers, did you get your hotel plans figured out yet? Just wondering. Pete Neamtz, known as Cimarron22 on the official forum, is also thinking of staying at the Best Western on Carroll street.

Since I will have a rental car I am going to stay about 20 minutes outside the city to save some money. If I remember right parking near the venue is only $5.

Okay, understandable. I do hope Bill & Susan will be there, though... Hint, hint. Pete (Cimarron22) has confirmed that he will be at that BW, as well. Come on, guys, you know you want to stay there! The more Hayley fan company, the better! I used Expedia, which made it far cheaper than it would've been on the BW site itself.

We're waiting to book a hotel until we can both sit down at the computer and figure out what works the best for us. We're both very busy people so that's a hard thing to coordinate. My guess is we'll stay wherever is cheapest.

So, I'm a little concerned about the weather that's going on over on that side of the country right now... going by the last few winters, this stuff goes on till April! Am I going to be trapped in an airport? Probably SeaTac, because my connecting city is Minneapolis, where they really get all the blizzards? This is one reason why my family has been and is still being so discouraging about. But I can't back out now, not that I want to, but still, I'm worried about getting there in time and sleeping in airports...

The states that are accustomed to getting large amounts of snow are also really good at clearing it out. The International Business Times lists Minneapolis as one of the major airports that get a lot of snow. They say "Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) -Among the highest number of snow days and snowfall levels, MSP sees nearly 40 days of measurable snow falls a year. With such ominous snow statistics, delays are not as substantial and it is rare that a shutdown occurs, making it an ideal location as an airport hub." Travel can sometimes provide an opportunity for adventure. Enjoy the ride. Just remember, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger". See you in Madison. BillR

Well, Libby, remember that Hayley will be traveling that way too. So if you get stuck, so might Hayley, in the same airport even. That would be a different way to meet her!! But I don't know that Hayley has ever been stuck in an airport, unlike me.

Doesn't seem likely to me. Nice thought, though. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThanks for that, Bill. That helps a little. But... what about Chicago, on my way home?

O'Hare is the third busiest airport in the world and flights can back up. At least you will have already been to the concert. BillR

Which of course means they will really pull the stops out to prevent that happening. Delays due to bad weather cost money. At London Heathrow (which I think is the world's busiest international airport) they go to great lengths to maximise troughput of aircraft in bad weather, I've been involved in things like snow clearance procedures, where they close areas one at a time to clear snow and ry to avoid closures and delays. London also has the worlds busiest single runway airport at Gatwick. Yes, it has two runways, but they can only use one at a time. I'll swear that at times I've seen two aircraft over the runway at the same time there, one landing and one taking off. And the way the Air Traffic Controllers slot departures in between the landing aircraft stacked up on the approach is a sight to behold. Not a place for pilots to hang about on the runway.

Internationally acclaimed singer Hayley Westenra joins the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for two special evenings at the Orpheum Theater. You’ll be treated to both Christmas music and other favorites for a full concert experience! This is a concert not to be missed! Concert Highlights:Amalia Por Amor My Heart Belongs to You It's Christmastime The Christmas Song Sleigh Ride La Califfa I Dreamed a Dream (from Les Miserables) Bridge Over Troubled Water Silent Night I've been wondering for a while now... does this mean these are the only songs she's planning to sing, or by highlights, do they just mean there could be more, but these are the ones Hayley has said she's planning to sing? 9 songs would be amazing enough, but I'm just wondering what they mean by highlights.

Hello Libby! That list is probably only a guess by the orchestra for promotional purposes. I can't believe Hayley would have finalised her set list in October, so I'm sure there'll be a few surprises. Richard
