IT seems to be at slightly different angles in the two photos, and hanging symmetrically in one of the photos as if weighted I am thinking a precious stone earring on a transparent line as opposed to ink.

Hello Paul and Taylor!  It's not an earring. Looking closely at the colour photo, I think I can just see a very thin choker chain round Hayley's neck to which the stone is attached, but it's almost invisible.  Richard  |

I was wondering about something like that, but I thought it looked a little high on the neck for that. But no other explanation makes sense.

The guy with Hayley in the picture of three I believe is Rhys Darby, and as a wild guess, his wife. This is hardly worth mentioning, but in the interest of being a little more precise, my wild guess as to the third person in the picture being his wife is just that - wild. Found some pictures of him and his wife in Google Images, and there is no resemblance whatsoever. So, just another minor mystery. BobS |

What a find! What a site! And a great picture of Hayley with the quartet, in the same dress that was just tracked down a couple of days ago.

The only thing I remember her doing early 2013 before the album stuff was a concert at a winery, and her posing with a raptor perched on her arm.  The concert was March 7, but she must have been already in NZ before that, we can only assume.  |

Relative to the post above, but off topic, there is an interesting "mystery" picture of Hayley at the site given below. Scroll slowly far down through the pictures on the right side watching the dates until you come to February 17, 2013. The 3rd picture under that date is a room full of men with Hayley sitting in a chair with her head in front of Tim Evans shoulder. Have no idea what the picture is about, but it is shortly before Brancott, and Tim was at Brancott with Hayley. A few pictures beyond under that date, one mentions "On tour with Hayley Westenra". Hi Richard,
I believe that you have it correct when you say that the photos were taken during Hayley's New Zealand tour in November 2011, and have nothing to do with their posting date of February 17, 2013. I had spotted a couple of Black Quartet names mentioned in the HWI postings of the tour, and the black dress ties in with the Rugby award performance of 2011. February 17, 2013, and Tim Evans, just happen to be coincidental with Brancott in March of 2013.
Incidentally, your pictures are clearer than what I was seeing on my computer when I first came across them. Don't understand how that can be. *

Okay, this makes more sense now. Including the dress!  Though I don't remember seeing an actual concert photo of her wearing that particular dress. I just remember the "champagne" colored one, and the purplish-blue Amanda Wakeley dress. And she did have a black flower in her hair with the champagne dress. Maybe she just "threw" that one on for the photo to match with the others. |
