Yeah, I saw that photo on her twitter page, and so that's how I know Gina was in LA/Hollywood the same time as Hayley, aside from the fact that she said so. But I'm not sure what the deal is with the 2 guys named Rhys... I'm still curious as to where Hayley could have been between June 11-15, the time that elapsed between her last 2 tweets. She said she was packing and flying (and writing, remmeber). Then the next thing we know she was in Hollywood. If she didn't do anything there other than briefly meet Gina Beck, what on earth did she do? I'm still clinging to my idea of working with songwriters there. I'm still waiting for Dave's response, since he said he was told the trip was part business/part holiday. Unless the holiday part was LA, and the business part was Auckland. But I almost wonder if the two trips were related somehow. I have no idea how, but I'm not ruling anything out unless we get the real story sometime. Because so far, I'm pretty sure we don't have the real story, other than the party in Auckland. That's not the complete story, anyway. I just find it a bit irritating that you all seem to think you know what has happened, but you really don't know anymore than I do. Also the aggravating comment about how the complete thread is explanatory. That's quite laughable, actually, I'm sorry. If it was so explanatory, then I wouldn't have gotten confused. I'd like to post the photos on the other forum, but since I still feel like I don't know enough details to explain it fully, I'm hesitant to post it. Frankly, I find all these cryptic tweets where we have to wait months to know anything (if there is anything to know) more frustrating than anything else. What's the point of knowing, if you can't KNOW? I'm glad you find this so entertaining, Richard.

Hi Libby, I didn't think there was anything to respond to, have I missed something? All I know is that "Hayley’s trip to Los Angeles was part holiday and part business" and I have no knowledge of anything else apart from what's in this thread. I wasn't planning to enquire further, because unless it involves a public event or appearance, Bandana do tend to remain tight-lipped. I have no problem with the super-sleuths among you trying to unravel any further details but as for myself, I'm happy to leave it as it is. Cheers, Dave

Libby,
If you are flying to NZ from London you can go round the world either way. In either case there will be a stop half way, the aircraft don't have enough range to do it non-stop. Going east it would typically be Singapore, Bankok or Hong Kong, depending on the airline. Going west LA is where most of them break the journey. Since it is a long flight, about 27 hours typically it is not unusual for travellers to spend a day or two at the place where they break their journey. Gives them chance to spread the jetlag a bit and recover from 15 hours or so of breathing airplane air, something we know is important to Hayley because she has said it affects her voice. This might mean she would like a day or two in NZ too before she has to perform. So, if you are breaking your journey at LA, why not visit Hollywood while you are there? It would take very little effort to do so since she would be in LA anyway. And if you are going out in the evening to a posh club, why wouldn't she be wearing makeup? We don't know how long she spent in LA. Probably only a day or so. to recover from the flight. Remember it is also likely if she is in NZ that she would fly down to Christchurch to visit her family. That too could account for some of the missing days. The "do" that we know about was a no expenses spared one by the look of it. So I expect Hayley would have been well paid to fly over and perform there. Why not combine it with a bit of a holiday?

Martin, the "missing days" were before her tweet. So are you saying she spent 5 days (11-16) in LA, or did she go to NZ, then back to LA, and now back to NZ again? Or did she go somewhere else still before LA? I think the first and 3rd options are the only likely ones, at least that I can come up with. It doesn't take 5 days to fly from the UK to anywhere, does it? As I said, none of you knows anything more about her LA stop than I do. Everything is just opinions and speculation right now. Of course it's not unusual for her to wear makeup. But the initial shock of the tweet may have made me (and most of the rest of you, I'll wager) make more of it than it was. However, I still think there's more to it than what we've seen. Dave, I didn't mean to say that you should bother Bandana or whoever again about it. I was just wondering what you thought, based on what you were told. Anyway, I'm done speculating. It's pretty pointless now. Also, speculation tends to lead to heated discussions, and I always want to try to avoid that sort of thing. But I always manage to cause it anyway. Despite that, it's nice to know people wonder about me if I don't say much. If there isn't much going on, then it's highly likely I won't say much of anything. Nobody else is (or was).

Hello Libby! I was well confused, until Bob drew my attention to the photo of Lorde. It was a very strange coincidence that the name Rhys cropped up in both Hollywood and Auckland, but it was only a coincidence. Richard

Y Frankly, I find all these cryptic tweets where we have to wait months to know anything (if there is anything to know) more frustrating than anything else. What's the point of knowing, if you can't KNOW? Mmmm.. I have to agree with you there Libby. It's fun and mysterious when they're building up anticipation to something, but other than that... Sort of like how we've been getting tweets since 2012 about song writing but we're still yet to hear anything Hayley's written. But ah well, such is life. With no concerts or events on the horizon there's probably plenty more cryptic tweet with no answers to come!

These days it is good just to hear from Hayley, whether it is cryptic or not. And Libby you have a point. If Hayley was in LA for 5 days, she probably had good reason.

Martin D Yes, and I still have a feeling it's for a reason we all might be very interested in someday (well, we're all interested right now, but you know what I mean). Now, you know what I think has caused the biggest confusion? Combining 2 separate, unrelated topics into 1 thread. Of course at first we didn't know that they weren't related, but now that we do (as far as we know), maybe there should be 1 thread for Hayley in Hollywood (which would probably be only a few posts), and the rest be a thread about the party involving Lorde (she goes to Auckland a lot, you know, so we need to be more specific than Hayley's trip to Auckland). On the other forum, the only thing I've posted about Hollywood is the one selfie Hayley took. Then, now that I mostly understand, I posted the 2 photos of Hayley in Auckland, and provided the link to the article about Lorde. All posted separately, and nothing to make it appear as though the 2 things were related. Now that I know that they aren't. LOL

Good idea, Libby! I've now split the thread in two, without breaking up the discussion. Richard

Yes, and I still have a feeling it's for a reason we all might be very interested in someday (well, we're all interested right now, but you know what I mean). Hello Libby I've been giving some thought to this myself and it's the leather jacket that's got me thinking. Sure, Hayley would dress up if she was going out but won't it be a bit warm for a leather jacket in LA this time of year. I look at that "selfie" and immediately think "photo shoot" mmmm, now what could that be about Best wishes Grant

Normally, we don't see her wearing dark lipstick like that, too, unless it's also for something more than just hanging out. Though I suppose visiting that Soho House might warrant makeup like that, but normally she reserves such things for special occasions, like photo shoots or press appearances, or maybe concerts. I also notice that the lipstick is very similar with her makeup artist before the party in Auckland. In the photos of Lorde, you also notice her lipstick is very dark. Or the few that I've seen. I just wonder if she was trying to fit in with the dark lipstick theme.

What is that on her neck? At first I thought something was on my computer screen. Then I thought, a long earring? But I don't see one on the other side. It looks like a large moth, but I know that can't be! LOL Always a mystery to solve! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
