Don't worry about Richard. He's looking after the flags. That's why he's up the pole! Roger

The scariest thing is pretty funny (although I feel bad for anyone in that situation). In fact all of it is pretty funny. It shows that even Hayley is not unaquainted with mr. Murphy Since she has a rather witty/deft mind though I wonder what the two lines she came up with were. Peter

What a great article! Her worst travel experience sounds exactly like a nightmare. Oh the humor in here. 'I'm a girl. I pack everything!' Just in case of something, right? <3 Caite

It is from Graeme on the Sydney CH 9 w Kerri-Anne 30-4-2007 thread. Jon

Hello folks! Don't worry about going off-topic earlier in the thread. The article is in the NZ Sunday Star Times Magazine, so I'm not going to get (southern) cross! Richard

Hi Ross, I have only just come across the interview and loved it and had a good chuckle! Thank you for posting it! My suitcase was over the acceptable limit while traveling back from Germany. I took out a leather jacket and coat for my mum to send it to me by post !!! A lot cheaper I figured! She does have blue-green eyes, trust me! Love, Marianne

...Peter S. Postscript. Interesting that she mentions 'The White Cross' at Richmond... Peter, are you talking to yourself again? Thanks Ross for the scan, interviews like this where we learn something new are the best! Cheers, Dave Merely musing, but point taken, Dave, Peter s.

All things considered Stephany, I think I would rather have the bad experience with my luggage than try to eat the squid guts.... I guessit beats live Aborigine grub worms.... Jon Hi Jon, Hayley was certainly very sporting indeed to attempt the squid guts and ink dish... Goodness me! Andrew She's very much a gutsy girl in her preparedness to try things new with such an open mind... and mouth! Peter S.

Just in case of something, right? <3 Caite Its not just girls who do that. Friends of mine, on whom I descend at weekends, always accuse me of coming away with everything including the kitchen sink--Hayley follows the NZ trend (or just her mother's) of bringing only the washing soap flakes box--and no (whoeever it was who mentioned it) it has nothing to do with my long hair! Perversely, I can also travel very light. I just can't find that third way! Peter S.

I didn't know she had a meeting with Ennio Morricone. Was it for a specific project?

I wasn't making a point Peter, I was making a joke. It just amused me to see Postscript adding his own postscript! Cheers, Dave

Hi Stephany,
I haven't read the article again to check but if the meeting wasn't recent, it could have been back in the Pure days as Hayley recorded My Heart And I for several versions of the album and this is taken from the film La Piovra by Ennio Morricone & Andrea Morricone.
But I also have a vague idea that Hayley has visited Italy within the last two or three years (after Pure) so if she has, it could have been then that she met him.
Cheers, Dave

Thanks for posting this great article Ross.
I've noticed that Hayley likes the phrase "I'm a girl" - she's used it on several occasions when I've seen her and I can hear her saying it now followed by a little giggle.
Best wishes Grant
P.S. I think 'girl' and 'giggle' are two of my favourite words!
