Hi all, Hayley was featured in this week's NZ Woman's Weekly magazine. Still keeping a keen eye out for more. I think the "I'm dating now" quote is a huge exaggeration to what she actually said. She explicitly stated she was in no serious relationship. Wonder what she and her mom think of these twist of words...Otherwise, a good article on her, with lovely photos!! Don't her and her mom look beautifully alike? ?? Enjoy! Dori

What a fantastic article, once again, from NZ Woman's Weekly. I like the name of "well-respected international artist of 20". Much better than "teen singing sensation !" "Yes I am dating but it's nothing too serious", she says. Poor guy No, seriously, it's great she finds the time to hang out from time to time. Way to go, Hayley ! And finally, I'm sure you all noticed reading the article : HAYLEY GOT HER DICTAPHONE!!![/size]

The family resemblance is amazing - to her Grandmother... it would be so amazing to hear both of them sing. I do wonder why the writers of these articles always leave out Hayley's English ancestry best, Peter T.

I find the "Hayley: Teen to Tempress" is rather insulting remark, actually.....it's like they're stereotyping her.... Dori

My lack of English vocabulary resurfaces here...what does "tempress" mean exactly ? Thanks in advance Hello Stephany, I checked Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary. It said 'temptress' is '(old-fashioned or humorous) a woman who TEMPTS sb, especially one who deliberately makes a man want to have sex with her'!!! I don't know why they use this word. I don't think the article has this implication. The article is quite okay and there are some beautiful photos too. Also, thank you for scanning it, Dori. Raymond

Many thanks for the scans, Dori! It's a great article and one of the best photo-shoots I've ever seen in the press. 'Temptress' seems a strange word for a female journalist to use, but perhaps it was suggested by one of her male colleagues! Best Wishes from London, Richard

I don't think they wanted to use the word precisely in such a negative sense; but still, they should have avoided using it.

Hi everyone
There are three copies of this magazine on offer on Ebay: bid at $9.95 or buy it now £14.95
I've just looked on the New Zealand Magazine Shop website but it isn't clear whether or not they are offering the current issue as there is no picture. I have emailed for confirmation. From them the mag is only $3.70!!
I have purchased previous copies of this mag from them without problems so watch this space if you intend to get a copy.
Best wishes Grant

Thank you Dori.
Now this is the way to bring her to maturity. I have not yet read the text but the overall image is teen girl to young woman, from innocence to blossoming womanhood and all that that implies. Decent, straight out with it and realistic.
An absolutely superb article. Also, it explains (quite apart from the natural desire for mother/daughter bonding) why Jill was with Hayley so much--to co-ordinate the press shoots.

My lack of English vocabulary resurfaces here...what does "tempress" mean exactly ? Thanks in advance 'Seductive' would suffice, or read my earlier post. In this context the word is essentially noting the journey from girl to woman. I think it is intended in the nicest of these contexts and I do not have a problem with it. I am sorry Dori does not like it but I think here we have a difference of approach regarding the openness of sexuality. Perhaps this is not an inappropriate moment to elaborate. When I first met Keith I expressed concern that there were so many 'old men' gathering round her. Perhaps it concerned me more because I am a bachelor and not used to the 'growing up process' of the younger generation. While in total adulation of Hayley and magnificent as Jill was, making it easier with her relaxed style around Hayley's mature fans, I always felt uneasy about this 60+ male chasing round the UK after a teenage schoolgirl. Hayley has always been mature for her age and never like a 'teenage schoolgirl', nonetheless, that reality has always been there. We have previously discussed this on a 'tacky' thread about her blossoming womanhood and I think agreed we didn't Ike those ideas. This is the right way (and the right type of magazine) to announce that this is a woman, not a schoolgirl. However mature and relaxed Hayley has been, I have always been aware of that almost half-a-century gap in age between us and felt uncomfortable with it, although I don't think Hayley ever has been. Perhaps I shall now be more relaxed in her company, recognising her as truly a young woman and not a 'VIth form schoolgirl'. Sorry, Dori, the dividing line between overt and covert sexuality is a complex one that varies across the world, across cultures, within cultures, within nations, within countries, within individual churches. I think she will traverse that middle path with consummate ease. Peter S.
