I have to say I've listened to this song repeatedly over the last few days as I was been feeling really ill and panicky about it and each time I hear it I think it makes me calmer, and certainly helped me sleep over the past few nights! I think it's helping my family sleep at the moment too, it's making me a lot more excited about the rest of the album- I'm sure it'll have much the same effect on me! best wishes Sing

Thanks for the lead. BobSHi Bob Thanks for that - just had a listen. Hopefully more radio stations that don't normally play Hayley will latch on to the fact that Sleep On has been written and sung for the royal baby and will give it an airing. Incidentally, if you scroll down throuth the list of music played and click on Hayley, it opens up Hayley's interview with Terry Wogan on Weekend Wogan! Best wishes Grant

Hi everyone,
I have been advised by Grainne MagFhloinn, daughter of Sleep On lyricist Brendan Graham, that the Telegraph version of the lyrics that we posted at the start of this thread and in a couple of places on the HWI website contained errors, and she has kindly sent me a copy of the official lyric (final version).
I have, of course, replaced all incorrect versions by the correct lyrics and for the record, I will now post them again. Many thanks to Grainne for taking the time and trouble to let me know.
SLEEP ON (Music: Paul Mealor / Lyrics: Brendan Graham)
Cheers, Dave

Hi all,
If there is going to be a commemorative 'Sleep On' single, do you think we would have heard of it by now? Or do you think it's something that Decca will arrange 'after the event'?

Hi Jillian and everyone Don't know how practical or expensive this would be BUT if I were Decca, I would have 'Sleep On the single' already pressed and in stores around the country and I would have air time booked for adds on major TV channels ready to press the "GO" button the second the birth is announced! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

Hi Jillian and Grant and everyone,
I have no inside knowledge on this, it's just what I've always felt about it, and something Grainne said, but I could be reading too much into it. However, as any digital download album track can be made into a 'single' in a flash these days - and at minimal cost, there wouldn't need to be a CD of it at all. Decca could just promote the album track and see how it goes. If the track sells enough downloads, it will automatically enter the singles charts.
This is what I hope will happen but I guess we'll have to wait and see. The presenter in Hayley's Radio Humberside interview speculated that the Royal baby could appear within a few days!
Cheers, Dave

Hi Simba, Thank you for broadening the video's exposure on this forum. A smart move! I,too, believe that this video is a sizable improvement over what we have previously seen for "Sleep On" promotion. BobS

Good spot there Bob, it's a new Classic FM Session and a marvellous one too, it sounds every bit as good as the official recording! Only Hayley can do this! Here is the Classic FM page: www.classicfm.com/artists/hayley-westenra/music/hayley-westenra-sleep-on-live/There's another Classic FM page here www.classicfm.com/artists/hayley-westenra/music/ with a Hayley recording of Brahms Lullaby (as well as Sleep On) but that one is currently marked "Private" and cannot yet be viewed, not sure where we'll put that one when it's available, perhaps a new Classic FM Session thread, we'll see, when it and the interview is available. Cheers, Dave
