Hi -,
No question about November 22nd being an ideal day for a broadcast of the Frangoulis/Boston concert. That is Thanksgiving Day, a huge national holiday.
Have been monitoring 4 or 5 PBS related sites daily, but have not picked up anything on it yet. (Don't have Facebook) Can't imagine the Boston PBS station not carrying it, but I would like to see a PBS announcement of some sort before getting my hopes too high.

H aven't looked but according to Spiderman on Hayleyonline, there is a note on Mario's website that the concert will be screened "on PBS in 30 cities", and will also be released on DVD. Now that is good news! hayleyonline.net/Martin D |

Hi,
In re-reading, less excitedly, Mario's Facebook announcement, I now get a different take on it.
"Ready to play The Boston Pops performance BY November 22nd". It does not say that it WILL be played on November 22nd. It can be interpreted as negotiations have been made with 30 PBS stations for it to be aired anytime on or after November 22, 2012 (like for 3 years, as we have read before).
That may account for why we are not seeing anything from PBS stations on its airing November 22, 2012.

I didn't see anything on WGBH's schedule at all...Boston is not one of the 30. Neither is my local PBS Station WVIA.  |

Bob, I'm not sure what's so great about it being on Thanksgiving anyway. Everybody's watching football that day, if anything. But I suppose non-football fans might come upon it, if they are actually watching TV.
I can't find it on my station either. We'll just have to be thankful we get to see any of it on DVD. Whenever that is.

Welcome to the forum.
It appears that quite a few Frangoulis fans and Westenra fans are eagerly awaiting a PBS broadcast of the Boston Pops Frangoulis concert. While the article that you have mentioned is from a fairly recent (October) publication, the very same article appeared in their August publication. Since the time span over which the show may be shown may be three years, it might even be 2014 before we see it.
If you happen to be a waiting fan, be sure to "Keep An Eye On HWI". You will then most likely be among the first to know, at least, if not the one to break the news.

KRWG has it listed for tonight.

Great find! Now we have something definite to zero in on. I see that KRWG is located in New Mexico. Am not aware of any HWI members from that region. The Frangoulis announcement mentioning November 22 has turned out to be correct.
Tried to find it mentioned on KVCR (serving the greater Los Angeles area) for December, but the website says "programming not available" for December. Hopefully we may have some HWI members in that area that might get to see the broadcast and report on it.

Have now found a KVCR TV programming schedule for December, but have not yet found anything under the 28th for Frangoulis.
What does the * indicate for the time that you have shown? Thought that it might have been intended for an 8, but no go.
