Hi everyone, I have now posted You And Me. Twice. The song alone is on our Youtube Channel at: You And Me - song onlyThe announcers' introduction, song, and flowers afterwards are up on our website, on the same page as My Heart Will Go On. You may not have seen this complete segment before as I had to download the entire concert to get it, then do some editing: You And Me, with introduction, and flowers afterwardsThis duet appears to have been the final song of the concert. You're right, but if she didn't have that cold (assuming she had), she could have sung it in her comfortable higher range. She wouldn't have had to go that low.
Just listened to the second song properly and it made me feel better! It's 100 times better than the first. I didn't listen to it properly because I was upset with the earlier perforamnce.
But I liked the overall control and flow of the song 2:47 that's what I call control. She started and ended all notes precisely. And the following vocalese was brilliant too!
I can feel a lot of emotion when hayley sings like this, she doesn't need to shake her head, belt it out or show much hand gestures to show it...(and vibrato on every single note)
EDIT: To add on to that, if Hayley had sung this song like she sang "Listen to the wind" (another James horner song, with an equally emotional feel) it would have been world's best. Which makes me wonder if it would have been best if she had sung this song in 2007 lol.

I didn't notice any vibrato. She's gotten so much criticism in the past about not being emotional enough, and now when she's doing better on that, it's too much?

Thanks Joe! I thought it was time to freshen up my look. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLibby, I agree with you. I mean, yes she did use some vibrato, but certainly not on every note! That would just be crazy. :-/And people were complaining that she had no emotion. Now they say she has way too much? What the heck!?!?! Well, the public is fickle. : -Taylor

The thing is we fans never complained that she didn't have emotion, because we felt the emotion in her eyes and voice. It's the rest who complains. Sure she has to respond to it, and she is working towards it. Doing all these extra things to give emotion is kind of not Hayley's style, that she over does it, and I'm not blaming her for that. In time I'm sure she'll balance both perfectly, she's still only 25 Libby I was exaggerating on the fact that she used vibrato on every note, but what I meant was, vibrato at unnecessary places. At very short notes, like for example note the last "MY" Heart will go on and on. All I'm saying is for THIS song, there were A LOT of places where she should have handled gently, why I'm posting all this is because, Hayley used to do these things naturally, singing gently in a flow. So Bamafan, don't make me appear as if I'm never satisfied with Hayley, infact I could call myself very biased that I'd like whatever Hayley performs, good, great, spectacular has always been UH-MAZING to me, but this was just unexpected, that's all. And I am not 'public', don't discriminate here please. "WE" are her fans, die-hard fans. I'm sure honest opinions are welcome here, which is why I posted my dissatisfaction in the performance, I always expect something from hayley(we all do), and she does something beyond expectations. So it was little difficult this time. Forgive me if I was offensive to anyone.

Sorry Simba, didn't mean to upset you I wasn't trying to discriminate against you. I had just heard these comments about her emotion several places outside the forum, like in reviews and video comments, so I was just a little erked at their (the public's) dissatisfaction with her efforts and I needed somewhere to vent. Srry bout that. What matters is that she tried did her best, and (I think) sang her heart out. What's done is done, and everyone is entitled to their opinion about it. So, again, my sincerest apologies. -Taylor

Yeah I agree, I don't like it when they do it too, and I remember various times where I've stood up for her. Well it is still great that she actually sang the song, and because she did, chances are she might do it again, so I'm only happy And for sure Hayley didn't 'try' her best. There's no need for Hayley to try here, because she is the best.

Well, I didn't think there was much wrong with it at all. Most of the criticism seems to boil down to it being different to Celine's version. Perhaps a bit quicker, not so much power, and since Celine's version is so well known, it is very hard not to compare it to Hayley's rendition it is true. I didn't think Hayley missed any notes. There were no technical errors like that that I noticed, and I usually notive such things. And she certainly conveyed the emotion of the song, and with a sensitivity that even Celine doesn't match. So no, I wan't disappointed. I loved it. I think Hayley nailed it, even though I was less convinced by the orchestra, who i thought could have done better.

Hi Richard, Great photo is that, I assume it was taken with a mere cameraphone, well done to the photographer. Perhaps Hayley herself, phone in her right hand, we know she's good at that! Dave

I just noticed the photo in the last post on page 2, the one I re-posted on page 3, has disappeared. It also disappeared from the official forum. Not even a red X, but in both places it lets me right click and show information from it. However, on the OF it doesn't show the JPG address, but here it does. Strange. It was the nicest photo from the press conference too! Oh, wait, it does show up in Firefox, BUT when I put the jpg address in, it sits there and won't go, on both IE and FF. Wierd. It's a very pretty photo! Her newest twitter photo is one of the nicest she's ever posted!! I like it very much. It's a great shot, and I love her pose and expression.

Okay, since Firefox showed the photo, I saved it and uploaded to my photobucket, so hopefully this time it will stay put!
