Celine lip-synced it? You probably mean when she's on tour, right? Well, whether she did or not, she definitely sounded very powerfully emotional the first time, anyway. She does in all her songs. Having a powerful voice definitely enhances it, I guess. Celine has been lipping MHWGO in her concerts since the early 2000s I know for sure. She is actually tired of the song bless her. Having to perform it everywhere she goes. The audio on the Titanic soundtrack and Celine's studio albums have the real deal of Celine singing the song when she cared and loved the song. It was fresh too for her then. Fun Fact: The soundtrack actually features the demo version of the song, which was played to Cameron to try and convince him to include the song. The demo was the very first time Celine sang the song. And it was the only take they recorded for the movie. So yes, very emotional studio recording indeed. Sorry to hijack the thread. Alicia

Hi everyone, I'm staying out of the Celine debate! But here is a copy of Hayley singing My Heart Goes On which i have uploaded to our Youtube Channel to make it more accessible. It should also solve any issues due to slow Internet speeds from China, and the frame rate is faster/smoother than the previous links posted (it's from the complete concert, which I downloaded). I should add that it is not in HD, and apart from the frame rate it is much the same as the original links. I upscaled it to help to preserve the audio quality as Youtube encode the audio better on HD video. My Heart Goes On at Youtube HWIVidI think Hayley did a fantastic job on that, in front of all those important Film Industry "suits" as well! Cheers, Dave

Alicia Hi Alicia I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you here... Céline hasn't been continually lyp-syncing the song since it has been released. She may have lip-synced when she performed it on a few TV shows but on most of her concerts, it was definitely live: her concert in Stade de France, her concert before her break in 2000, her Taking Chances Tour, her concerts in Vegas and the DVD A New Day and so on... And she recently gave an interview saying that, though she has to sing it at every concert because the audience expects it, she still enjoys performing it. And I think we can really feel it in her performances. Nowadays, she tends to sing everything with too much affection but I still feel she cares and loves the song I thought Hayley did a very good job on My Heart Will Go On. When I learned that she would perfom it, I was a bit sceptical and afraid of the result, as Libby knew , because I deeply love the song and always fear when new performers "touch" it. But in fact, Hayley managed to give it the right emotion and to give a great performance. And her voice is so spectacular that I have to admit: I couldn't help being captivated from the very first notes! So in my capacity as specialist of James Horner, I validate the performance lol! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLots of love, Juliette x

I don't approve of that. Hayley did a great job with the song in person. Well I think Hayley is so much better than Celine anyway. Celine just got lucky with the movie score. Larry

Hayley did do an amazing job! I LOVED IT! I just hope that this isn't one of those gems that she performs amazingly at concerts, but never records, some examples being “Sweet as Honey,” “How Many Stars?” or “Love Came Down at Christmas.” They were all wonderful performances, no doubt, but a recorded version would certainly have been appreciated. Well, there's always YT -Taylor

I don't know about her recording it, as nice as it is. I do hope she records Sweet as Honey, along with the other Mandarin and Taiwanese songs she's done on a "Hayley Sings Taiwanese Songs" or something, which many of us have been hoping for. Yes, and I would love for her to re-record Love Came Down at Christmas. Because apparently she did record it, but the recording didn't turn out right, or something. Too bad they couldn't have had her re-do it or something. I certainly wouldn't have been upset if it had been in place of Chestnuts, my least favorite on the album, and one of the most tiresome Christmas songs, IMO. LCDAC is a much more beautiful, meaningful song, something different than the usual Santa Claus drivel. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Thanks for uploading the video, Dave! I've posted the new link on our Facebook page, but I've left the old one up as it has been shared by a couple of people. I've also shared Hayley's farewell message. Richard

Whoa :/ I read comments like "I was afraid as to how Hayley would sound if she did this song" and such, but I for one, from the moment I heard hayley and wanted her to perform this song, I knew she'd sound best with the voice she's got, and that this song would suit such a heavenly voice the best. It's a gentle song...
Less than a week ago did I come to know Hayley was gonna perform this, and every day I kept checking this site and various websites to see if there was a pic or a clip...It was like a dream come true.
My brain still cannot think that this song doesn't suit her, because it "should", because I still believe she can do it better than anyone else. So that means this was a bad performance (in my opinion)
Never thought I would ever say this in my entire life, but I mean no offense, this song was handled very badly that night. Not only hayley also the orchestration, the recording quality, everything.
The tempo being messed up at the chorus bits, and the song being overall much faster, was a big drawback to the whole emotion. I didn't feel anything when the flute (or whatever wind instrument), started to play. Bad orchestration. And the moment I heard her first notes, I was much disappointed.
Emotion was forced, being very loud at abrupt points. Some say Celine Dion had A LOT of power in her voice. Yes she sounded more powerful, but with that power she had absolute control. Her live performances (the non-lip synced ones), breath-taking. The song still sounded gentle, elegant (yes Celine's version) It was all connected well.
Hayley's song didn't flow well (I'd blame the poor orchestration for going upbeat at various parts) when Hayley's voice to me is the most perfectly flowing one. Not many can get a voice like Hayley's, not many can sing in such a heavenly manner. I wonder why hayley chose to sing this in a different way.
Hayley lost beat a lot of times (started too early at places) (Again I blame the orchestration) Went off-tune at some low notes (ofcourse must've been too low for her, and nervous because it's such a big song)
But Finally I think she wasn't feeling well...3:26 "where EVER", hayley strained her voice so much to hit that note, which is not even high (relative to hayley's range) Maybe that's why she had to choose to sing in such a LOW scale, when her comfortable range is a little higher.
I'm sorry for being so critical, But this made me very upset for two days, still am, and I think I will be until I hear something from Hayley soon. And I pray that she will sing this song again, soon when everything's normal for our, a non-nervous environment, a perfectly rehearsed state and voice, and ofcourse brilliant orchestration.
Sorry again. Only my feelings and opinion.
She missed the lyrics during one chorus, Yes I know nobody's perfect, but that shows that it was quite under-rehearsed. And I know for sure Hayley can do this MUCH better.

Hi Simba, Lots of interesting analysis there, some might think a little too much? A poor audio feed (32kbps!) probably doesn't help matters, to be fair. But on this occasion, I think I will just sit back and enjoy the music, and enjoy it I did. Cheers, Dave

Yeah definitely, I said the recording was very poor too. It's difficult for me to think it was hayley's fault at all, so I was just doing something to convince me. Took Hayley's version made it an a capella and tried mixing it with the original karaoke. As expected the tempo is much faster than the actual one, simply slowing the tempo made it so much better, and mixing it with the actual bg made it even better. If I had heard something like this, I don't think I'd have been very disappointed. So I really think it was an unexpected change in tempo, and Hayley had to sing to beat....I'm sure we'll get a perfect performance of this some day

As far as I'm concerned, the tempo is fine, I love Hayley's performance of this, very enjoyable. And you always have to allow for audio technical quality on Internet broadcasts and in many cases, *truly* live stage performances like this, too. I said your analysis is interesting, which it is, but I don't agree at all with the thrust of it. Dave

Wow, and I thought people would think I was being mean... No, I don't think you're being mean Simba. But even I didn't think it was as bad as you make it sound! True, she probably could have done better. On listening the second time, it was very apparent that she had a cold. However, I think that actually helped her in the lower notes! Having a cold does tend to deepen the voice. I noticed the wrong lyrics, too. It was supposed to be Near, far, wherever you are, but she sang Once more- wherever you are! So she caught herself pretty quickly, actually! I noticed it the first time, because it just didn't seem to fit, not because I have all the lyrics memorized in order (as I'm sure Juliette does ). Personally, I always wonder how singers do remember their lyrics all the time, especially in live performances. Yes, practice, but like in a concert where they sing several songs in a row, and in different languages, at that. So, it's perfectly understandable to me! But it's always unfortunate when it's at such a big event like this. Do you think James Cameron was really there for the concert? Everything I found about him was from earlier in the week. Of course, it wouldn't be that exciting news (for most people) to know whether he was planning to attend the concert or not, but they didn't even say how long he was there for. Oh well. If Simba thought it was so bad, then maybe he didn't care for it either.
