Well, Martin, your use of the quote seemed to imply that those of us who "can't be bothered" to make a "trifling" journey to go see Hayley, we "deserve all we get". How did you expect me to interpret it? And if you didn't mean it, why did you post it? And no, I don't read books about aliens.
It also annoyed me that you acted as thought DC concert was really supposed to satisfy Hayley's US fans, other than TimJ and Steve (fusilier).
Dave, what question was 42 the answer to? The number of songs she sang at King's Lynn?
I really would love to travel to see Hayley, but one of the biggest things stopping me is the possibility that the show I decide to go to gets cancelled, and my plane ticket, hotel reservation, etc., would be wasted. Or do they refund those things? Even if they did, that would be horribly disappointing, and mean a lot of planning gone to waste, and my hopes of finally seeing Hayley live dashed. It would be just my luck for something like that to happen.

Hi Libby, Another Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference there... There was a big part in the book about what the answer to life, the universe and everything is. A massive super computer called 'Deep Thought' was built by a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings who waited seven and a half million years for it to calculate the answer to life, the universe and everything.... and the answer was .... 42. 'What?' they cried! Deep Thought said that the problem was that they didn't know what the question was to begin with. Deep Thought devised the plans for an even more powerful computer which could determine what the question was. That computer was Earth. Then after ten million years of calculation, the Earth is destroyed by Vogons five minutes before the computation is complete. And look how that all tied in with my previous explanation! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif As for worrying about the concerts being cancelled, I think the best thing is to plan a little holiday around the concerts. That way if for some reason they get cancelled, there'll still be something that you'll really enjoy. Cheers (and so long and thanks for all the fish), Jillian (Who is now really wondering if my copy of Hitchhiker's was lost in the floods or nicked by someone..... )

Hi Libby,
If you worried about concerts being cancelled you would never book anything!
I think with Hayley that has only happened to me twice since 2004, so it isn't a bad record. Although it would be much worse if you had flights and accommodation booked.

I'm just wondering, what is French toast known as in France?
Round these parts, it's called French toast. I think it sounds more appetising than eggy bread.

I think with Hayley that has only happened to me twice since 2004, so it isn't a bad record. ... This sets up the perfect opportunity to create a small addendum to this Quiz, even though it's not about 2011: 1. The "Il Divo with Hayley" concert for Philadelphia was cancelled due to bad weather. Because of this, what was the number of cities they actually visited on the tour? 2. What was the episode number of "American Dreams" on which Hayley appeared in 2004? 3. For a brief while, the collective ages of Hayley and her two siblings matched the exact age of their dad. What was that exact number? 4. What is the total running time of Hayley's very first Decca release, the New Zealand edition of "Pure" which came before all the other versions? 5. On Sunday, 15 February 2009 Hayley performed at the London Palladium. What number does 15 February and Palladium have in common?

The airfare will not be refunded. They will refund your fare for a family death or if you are ill and have a written statement from a doctor stating you are unable to travel if you have bought travel insurance. The refundable tickets are quite expensive. Contrary to Martinn I have in the last three years have had five of Hayley's concerts canceled. I was in the UK already when three were canceled. The hotels will cancel your reservation if you notify them in the time frame they stipulate. Larry

Well, Martin, it wouldn't be as hectic for a concert close by to be cancelled, than one very far away. However, a US concert cancellation would be horribly disappointing.
