Wait a minute, does that mean it wasn't a real dog?

Er.. no it was a real dog. And Classic FM was not part of what Hayley called her "road trip", the tour of UK local radio stations.
We still don't have the correct answer to all of the questions, so more time is needed. But come the weekend, I might assume you have all given up if you haven't got them all.

My final guess on question 2: A Doberman, since they are bred as "attack" dogs.

OHK, here we are. The answers!
1. Which of Hayley's 2011 duet partners also performed with Hayley in November 2004?
Mario Frangoulis (at the floriana Granaries Malta in 2011, and on her UK tour in Novenber 2004)
2. On Hayley's tour of UK radio stations to promote Paradiso, she was "attacked by a dog". Which breed was it?
A Miniture Schnauzer. This was entirely from memory and I no longer seem to have the interview in question, but I think it was Nottingham.
3. What was the location of Hayley's only public concert in England in 2011?
Kings Lynn. For those of you who think we English get more than our fair share of Hayley, one concert in a 700 seat venue was all we got in 2011.
4. Which song, which was recorded by Hayley in 2001, was revived this year and featured in several of her concerts?
I Dreamed a Dream. from Les Miserables. And very beautiiful it was too.
5. Which song from Hayley's album Pure, written by a Namibian songwriter, was revived this year and performed in several concerts?
Who Painted the Moon Black.
6. What food did Hayley apparently change her mind about liking in 2011?
Stinky Tofu.
7. What injury did Hayley sustain in 2011?
A burmed finger whilst baking.
8. In 2011, Hayley was present at two memorial services for the Christchurch Earthquake. One was in Hagley Park, Christchurch. Where was the other?
Westminster Cathedral
9. Where was Hayley on 23rd December when the Christchurch earthquake struck?
To be precise, the second floor of the Westfield Riccarton Mall. This is a little to the west of the centre of Christchurch, and the earthquake was on the east side. Still, pretty scary I am sure.
10. What delicacy did Hayley's family apparently discover during Christmas 2011?
French Toast which I think is Eggy Bread. But it might have been made by a Frenchman...
Well, between you you got nine of them...
Well done! Your prize is a listen to whatever Hayley albums you have. Take as long as you need.

Martin, if you barely know the answer yourself, how can you expect us to? And then not even give us the full details? Oh, only one concert, Martin? Well, that's a lot more than most of the rest of the world gets! It was about time New Zealand had a turn! Yes, Hayley came to Washington DC, but it was not actually a "Hayley concert". So, Martin, don't try to convince us you're suffering just because one year out of many contains only 1 concert in England. The UK itself had 2 more, the ones in Wales. Close enough.

Hi Libby, I knew what breed it was, I'm certain of that. I'll remind you that the United States also got one show from Hayley in 2011. And that was to a much bigger audience on national TV. A quote comes to mind - "Well, if you can't be bothered to make the trifling journey over to Alpha Centauri you deserve all you get". That's from Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, when our hero discovers the earth is scheduled for demolition. Martin D

Martin, if you barely know the answer yourself, how can you expect us to? And then not even give us the full details?... Yes Martin, what exactly happened when Hayley was attacked by the dog? Did it bite her? A lot is left to the imagination, and I can only imagine the canine was somehow set off by her voice, as others have been in the past.

A quote comes to mind - "Well, if you can't be bothered to make the trifling journey over to Alpha Centauri you deserve all you get". That's from Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, when our hero discovers the earth is scheduled for demolition. Martin D Martin, that is not nice of you to say at all. Not all of us have the opportunity to travel to see Hayley. Trifling, you say? If it were really so trifling, why isn't every US fan going over there to see her? A few do, yes, but it's easier for some to do than others. Okay, so it's not absolutely impossible for me to travel, and I would love to visit England or wherever, it's just that it would be a very huge thing for me. I have never travelled overseas, it's been years since I rode on a plane, and I would have to convince other slightly reluctant people to come with me. Just so many details to figure out, and it just seems like a huge, difficult thing for me. So, pardon me if I try to hold out for the seeminly tiny chance that Hayley might come to the US (and I mean for a REAL concert), or even Canada. It would save a lot of money if I could drive to Seattle, or even California or nearby Canada, instead of flying to London, you know. And, Martin, if you had actually read my post, you would have seen that I DID mention the WA DC peformance, but that it doesn't really count, because it wasn't a Hayley concert! She sang ONE whole song! How many songs did you get to hear in King's Lynn? Quite a few, if I remember right. Oh, and remind me again which country is getting a Paradiso tour coming up in just a few short months. Why, it's the UK, of course! The US has not had an actual Hayley concert since 2007, at some little bar, and then, she was only there because of Celtic Woman. So, tell me again, how is it that you in the UK are suffering from a lack of Hayley concerts? Until you have gone more than one year without a single Hayley concert, not one song at all, you need not act as though you're suffering from a lack of Hayley. New Zealand went 4 years without a Hayley tour. Taiwan never really got to see her till 2009, and the same with China. The US has gone nearly 5 years without a true Hayley concert. Appearing in WA DC twice to sing one song at each visit just does not count, in my mind. Yes, I could have gone if I wanted to bad enough, but the US is a lot bigger than the UK. To take time out of my schedule, to go all that way to the opposite side of the country to hear one whole song, and then a bunch of singers I'm not that crazy about, when I know I can see her on TV is not really that easy or worth the effort. Yeah, you'd think a devoted fan like me would do it, but it just isn't as easy as that for some people. I'm not trying my best to get Hayley more popular in the US just to have her sing one song every 3 years. I want to see her here live, at a true Hayley concert, and I want all the other US Hayley fans to get to see her live, too. Not just those on the east coast.

Hi Libby I don't think Martind meant it like that. The quote comes from the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy when an alien race called the Vogons turn up to planet Earth in order to carry out a scheduled demolision of the planet in order to make way for an interglactic bypass. The humans protest (of course) and the Vogons dismissively say that the plans and the scheduled demolition of Earth have been on display in the local planning department of Alpha Centauri for fifty years, and it’s not their fault we haven’t been able to travel the measly four light-years to get there. The irony of course being that it was completely impossible for the humans to get there. I think what Martind was saying is that while there's concerts and events all over the place, for fans (like you in Seattle) these concerts might as well be 4 light years away in the local planning office at Alpha Centuri. Being a bit of a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy fan, I actually thought it was really funny! But I guess it seemed a bit odd if you're not familar with the book. (An excellent read, by the way if you want something fun and a bit odd ball to read! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ) Cheers, Jillian

Thanks Jillian for the explanation! Libby is right though, you can't reasonably equate Hayley's US concert 'visibility' with that of the UK, NZ or Taiwan! The answer, by the way (in case Libby is wondering ) is 42. Cheers, Dave

Whoa Libby! That was meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek. And thanks Trillian Jillian for explaining it.
I would love to see Hayley tour the USA. I've said many times that she has enough US fans to make it work, and with decent promotion there would be more. And I know that we have often had rather a lot of Hayley concerts here - one year I managed to get to six. And I know some folk here have done many more in a year.
But you can never get enough Hayley concerts. Something else I've become rather fond of saying.
By the way, I got the impression that the dog attack was rather of the licking to death variety.
