Hi Dori, Thanks for the great find, I don't know how Hayley manages to fit it all in! She must spend hours each week just giving interviews, although with each one we find out a tiny little bit more about our Hayley. Thanks again for the post. Steve H

Thanks for the link Dori, nice one! I have "acquired" the video and I will post it later today.. but in the meantime, it can already be viewed in the TVNZ video archive, I found it by searching on this page here (Video, from 2007 March to 2007 March). Cheers, Dave

Thank you so much for the video, I'm very happy because I finally got to hear Hayley's version of "Dulaman". OK - it was rather short; but Hayley singing Gaelic sounds very good!

Wow, that was one of the best Hayley interviews I've ever seen! Hayley sounded AMAZING on Dulaman. She always seems to be singing slow songs, so I'm glad she's singing one with a faster tempo.

And yet, Hayley's version of "Dulaman" sounded slower than Meav's. My impression is based on a very short extract, though. Hopefully there will be a CD collector with this song. I'm also dying to hear "Scaborough Fair" accompanied by Orla's harp. But that's another story.... Belinda must be delighted by the end of the interview because Hayley is very enthusiastic about going back to NZ ! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

A fascinating interview. What comes across strongly is something we all know about Hayley and that is she is dedicated 100% to music and her career even if that means great personal sacrifices. Not only did she mention again that she gets very homesick at times but also did you see the slight sadness in her face when asked if she had a boyfriend and she replied no. And I really can't imagine Hayley queuing up at the Post Office to pay her bills! I also laughed out loud when she said she didn't know any "bloke" songs (in the context of rugby songs) - just as well as they are pretty blue! Martin Martin

No blokes, and no bloke songs. It is truly a bloke-less existence.
Hayley’s explanation is actually quite reasonable: She goes out with somebody, and then has to tell him maybe I’ll see you again in six months. Hard to build something with that kind of frequency. I do hope that sooner rather than later she finds some balance, and allows herself to cultivate relationships – both male and female. Her music indeed comes first, but she has so much to offer on a human scale. What lucky friends she will have.
