Ah, so you did see my note graeme There wasn't much in the video to identify the location, but fortunately I had some inside information. As you so rightly suggest, the monument doesn't give appropriate credit to the most important figures of the anti-slavery movement. If it did I think it would have been given greater recognition and kept in a more prominent location.

Once again Hayley teams up with an elder statesman of the music industry and the results are awesome. George Martin, Ennio Morricone, Andre Rieu. Who's next I wonder ?

Hi Graeme! Glad you enjoy it! Is Hayley on the DVD as well as the CD? I'm a little confused. I only have the CD Cheers, Jillian Yes Jillian. The video shows her singing around the little slavery abolition monument (see my post #74) & also in the studio together with the irrepressable Andre Rieu. It's in the 'bonus' section of the DVD. I still can't figure why NTSC format was used unless it was mainly intended for the American market. Graeme

I think it's lovely the way Andre Rieu seems to look at Hayley too- he certainly looks impressed/ mesmerised- and rightfully so too haha! best wishes Sing I agree. For this reason, I'm glad they included the "recording bits". The dress looks fine to me, too.

What about Andrea Bocelli? Bryn Terfel, her first major UK appearance? Jose Carerras, maybe? Hopefully we can add Howard Shore's name to the list in about a year or 2. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Of course, she has worked with him before, which would seem to better her chances. But none of us got to hear her sing then, though.

Yes, I was wondering about Howard Shore. Then there are all those military guys.
And the other Howard, Howard Goodall.

Hi Libby,
The people she worked with on things like the Battle of Britain Tour. There were two different RAF bands involved in that. I suspect she has worked with other military bands too, but I can't quite remember off the top of my head.

and of course James Last,
I knew of some people who only had James Last records in their music collection, nothing else.
He was probably as popular as Andre Rieu is now. But will Rieu manage to keep it up for five decades as James Last did ?
