20 seconds from the point where she took the last breath and started singing again(i guess she was set to sing for 20 secs) , I forgot to mention it! So that was indeed amazing, it was high and long!

Incidentally, Hayley had just comprehensively trashed the record for her longest recorded note. That fabulous final note goes on for 19.5 seconds by my watch. Martin D I thought it was a heck of a long time and it seemed rock steady throughout. Incidentally, does that recording not show her singing high notes again, at least as high as previously if not higher? Not looking to cause an argument, just enquiring as there has been debate previously about her high note comfort. Peter S.

I have to say she looked and sounded completely comfortable. That was a truly astonishing and beautiful performance. I guess the violin is Andre's Strad - that sounds wonderful too. Can't wait to get the album and the full quality version of that DVD. The aspect ratio is a bit strange though, almost cuts Hayley's head off at times, do you think it will be like that on the released version? Or is it just done for the sampler?

Peter S. I also noticed the length of the final note - almost 20 seconds IS a heck of a long time. There were a lot of spectacular high notes in the song too. Maybe someone with a bit of musical knowledge can help with some technical input. Best wishes Grant

Thanks Jillian & all for the heads up. I bought the DVD from Sanity music yesterday & the young girl told me "there're heaps of them" Hayley's Bonus track only appeared on the standard DVD ntsc version so I bought it anyway. I'm afraid I'm thoroughly spoiled with the ready availability of HD so I noticed the difference. Jillian I like your attitude towards "schmaltz" & have been trying not to react against showpony Andre (Oops, I did it again) Hayley's track was BEAUUUUTIFULL !!!!While buying the DVD I also met a young Kiwi school teacher who'd never heard of Hayley....she was very keen to get home to her youtube after and correct her deficiency !!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif The CD and DVD was in one Warehouse store today. But the DVD only included the making of the video with Hayley. On the 7th Nov a CD/DVD will be released in NZ which will include Hayley's video so I have pre-ordered that instead.

I wonder if Decca have noticed the statistics on their Vimeo page since I posted the links to the video two days ago. These are the number of plays for each day since Decca published it: Oct 25 - 6 Oct 26 - 5 Oct 27 - 2 Oct 28 - 1 Oct 29 - 252 Oct 30 - 120 Oct 31 - 161 (so far today) They probably think the Hayliens have landed! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Yes, Hayley was standing on the west side of Waterloo Bridge. The other location, where she was pictured between columns, is the Slave Memorial in the Victoria Tower Gardens just beside the Palace of Westminster (aka Houses of Parliament) Thanks Roger. Your post started me hunting Google maps plus " earth until I saw the Victoria Tower, then the Gardens & ultimately the monument. I haven't seen London since 1985 although I was born in Dorking,Surrey. (have lived in Australia since 1952) I like to familiarize myself visually with places I've been to. Added to that I've recently read a biography of Wilberforce re the abolition of slavery & was surprised that no mention was made of him on the description I posted. The hymn "Amazing Grace", very familiar to Hayley fans and countless others, was written by John Newton, a ships captain personally familiar with the slave trade and later a clergyman. © 2007 Peter Marshall Just found the memorial base plaque which credits Wilberforce & others. Thanks to peter marshall's my london diary.See also the following pages from Peters blog : mylondondiary.co.uk/2007/03/mar21-09.htmmylondondiary.co.uk/2007/03/mar24-05.htmThanks again, Graeme
