Phew. It took 2 hrs 15 minutes to upload this to YouTube. But here is my video of Hayley's latest live performance, her final encore at Bournemouth last Thurday 8th March. Hope you like it. youtu.be/3xIZuHSC5-AThe expressions on the face of the woman violinist behind Hayley are almost as interesting as Hayley's expressions. At times she seems to be almost in tears. But she keeps her playing together like a rue professional. And now, to bed - work tomorrow! Marrtin D Time well spent uploading that, Martin. It's superb and really keeps that awesome evening firmly in the memory. Thanks for posting the pic of Hayley and me. As she stood beside me she said quietly "Grant." You can't catch this girl out. Despite all the cameras around she always knows whose lens she's going to be looking into ! I think that violinist was as Hayleywowed as the rest of us !

Thanks Martin too for the video. It also captures at the end the orchestra applauding Hayley for her performance. Professional musicians only do this if they mean it.

Phew. It took 2 hrs 15 minutes to upload this to YouTube. My goodness, that's dedication for you! You didn't upload it in uncompressed video, did you? How big is the file size of the video that you uploaded? Cheers, Dave

Hi Jeff That's interesting - didn't hear her myself but Hayley does have a knack of knowing where to look when it comes to having her photo taken with anyone. Your post reminded me that I hadn't posted the one I took, so here it is. Best wishes Grant

How big is the file size of the video that you uploaded? Cheers, Dave Just under half a gig of .mov file. I did this one straight out of the camera, since I find that I get better quality doing that than compressing it first, so I won't do that unless I need to edit it. I know that YouTube also processes it, and it's probably better if it isn't done twice! Anyway, there will be more to come from this show! Martin D

Sounds like you need BT Infinity or Virgin Media superfast fibre (8-10 Mbps uploads if you can get them) as then it would be a 10 minute upload. I edit all my TV video uncompressed and then compress the final version in h.264 at 8Mbps for upload (same codec and bitrate as HD TV broadcasts) so the upload takes the same time as the video length even for HD. Look forward to your next! Dave

Thanks for another great video, Martin, one of my favorite songs in particular! And thanks again, Grant, for the continual supply of Hayley photos. I unfortunately didn't have a chance to view yesterday's installment until today, along with today's.

Which songs do you think have been the most important in Hayley's career so far? I can think of two above all others. Both I know are very special to Hayley. Strangely enough, neither is on my YT channel. That will be put right with my next upload, which I will try to get done tomorrow, although it will be another long one.

If I had to guess, I would say Pokarekare Ana and Amazing Grace, but I really don't know. Back to Never Saw Blue: I really liked Hayley's slightly different intepretation of it. Normally when she sings songs a tiny bit different, I'm not always keen on it at first, but this time, I really enjoyed the way she did it. It was really beautiful. I didn't think the lady's expressions were particularly interesting; I've seen violinists who look to be in severe anguish every time they play, no matter what song it is (but I suppose that could be an act). Anyway, I found the expressions of the men behind her more interesting, especially the man farthest to the left (Hayley's right), who is seen mostly near the beginning. And if Never Saw Blue was the very last song, that might be one reason why the orchestra applauded afterwards.

Thank you Grant for taking that photo. In fact thank you for all that you do for this forum. As I waited for the queue to subside I was watching you work and Hayley certainly keeps you busy. But, as with Steve Hayter, I guess it's a labour of love ?

But, as with Steve Hayter, I guess it's a labour of love ? Thank you Jeff, your comments are much appreciated. Photographing Hayley could never be called 'work' although it can be quite tiring at times i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif although at each of the concerts I attended (five in all) the staff were always very supportive and, although not a prime objective of course, always gave those just wanting to get pictures of Hayley space to do so - so hats off to them. A couple of interesting personal statistics - I spent five and a half hours in total taking pictures during the tour, although at times I just had to take time out to watch Hayley's interaction with everyone. During the tour I took around 450 photos of Hayley - Steve probably took more because he was also snapping during the concerts. Best wishes Grant

Right, time for another video! I think you know me too well Libby, although we have never met. Yes, Pokarekare Ana and Amazing Grace are the two songs I meant, and this video is Amazing Grace. Another superb performance from Hayley. youtu.be/yF-ag60UgOMA comment was made on facebook about Hayley looking at the camera on my Never Saw Blue, and speculating that she had spotted it. She looks at the camera even more on this one. I can't say that she didn't see it, but I had the camera hidden under my coat with only the lens protruding. It is possible that the reflection of the backlight was visible to her, despite being under my coat I suppose. Anyway. make your own minds up. Also, I think, having started to get used to it, that the use of the monopod is a success. There seems a lot less camera movement on these videos, despite using a lot of zoom, than there was on some of my others. Martin D
