Hello Jillian! Thanks for another wonderful video. I've just posted it on our Facebook page, and I'm sure it will be as popular as the first two. There are some nice comments there. Best wishes, Richard

Jillian, you have done superbly well. Thank you.
Now, let's address that sound quality. Allow for the insufficiencies of nonprofessional equipment and I think we gain an understanding of the sound quality to the audience at the event. Clearly it is a stadium rather than a theatre so acoustics are tricky. Unless clear plans have been made available well in advance, the sound team has to cope at short notice either with what is there or the limitation of what they travel with. Certainly there is a metallic colouring to the sound which is disappointing but there is still absolutely no question at all that you are listening to an absolutely beautiful voice. However, one spot close to is no indicator of how sound may be received in any different location of the same venue.
I don't know to what extent the earthquake has affected venue choice but perhaps any future tour should consider 2 or 3 nights at a smaller venue or more time be given to get the acoustics right. However, you can only prove what is right when that auditorium is filled and you can't do that prior to a concert!

Thanks for that Jillian. I too use a compact camera for my videos, but I'm not convinced that some lower end camcorders do any better with the sound. And the sound at Christchurch was not very good anyway - you sometimes can't do too much about the acoustics of the building.
As for sound quality in smaller locations, that is no guarantee. At Kings Lynn the show was over half an hour late starting, due we were told to "technical problems" which I believe were with the sound system.

Great work Jillian, It takes quite a bit of effort to hold a camera steady and on target for long periods. Especially if you are trying also to conceal a forbidden camera ) I get the impression you were able to view the screen while shooting, you were well zoomed in on the subject and maintained her in the frame and stayed extremely steady. Thank you, you did a fine job for those of us who could not be there. I don't know if you had a monopod or a camera clamp attached to the camera it certainly reduces the muscle strain and allows you to put your hand in a comfortable position for prolonged periods, and to tip the camera behind your coat when the camera police come a lookin' fo you another clamp with ball headI have one that is about the size of a deck of cards (Just can't find one to show you ) and can be clamped onto things like the backs of seats or whatever might handily present itself. It can also be used quite comfortably as short camera grip.

Has everybody looked at this video. Not many comments so far! www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNjAD8ib3h4Isn't it great - Hayley Westenra and Chase Douglas. Oddly enough - Chase at 21 the mature tenor - Hayley at 24 still with the breathy girl quality. End result is pleasing overall.

Hi Evan, and welcome to the forum.
Yes, I'm sure most of us have seen it. Perhaps not many comments since Hayley's performance is similar to the other occasions when she has sung this song with other partners such as Andrea Bocelli and Rhydian Roberts. But yes, a fine performance by both singers, and Chase could have a great future.

Martin D Hi Martin D, What is interesting is that Vivo Per Lei has the most views by a fair bit of the three ChCh concert videos I've uploaded so far. Interestingly, the 'insight' statistics show that quite a chunk of views are coming from people who have searched for 'Chase Douglas' or 'Hayley Westenra and Chase Douglas'. Must be people from the NZ concerts who were impressed by the duet! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I can tell you it went down an absolute treat at both the Auckland and Christchurch concerts and as mentioned in the New Plymouth thread, it was even performed twice at that concert. I hope that if Chase gets a record deal in the near future that he puts a duet with Hayley onto his first CD! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Cheers, Jillian
