I don't need an orchestra everytime, but I don't think I'd like an album where the background instrument is just a piano, on every single song. Variety is one of the things I've always appreciated about Hayley's choice of music.

While Hayley's voice is so perfect that even an a capella is enough, diversity in bg music also counts where it calls for different use of instruments, and an orchestra create some very different emotions which voice alone, or piano cannot drive

This deadzone of time between Christmas and new years eve is a great time for reflection on the year that has passed. Just watching Jillian's videos of the Christchurch concert sum up an exceptional year for Hayley. This combination of Morricone and Hayley has unified my whole life of listening to music into one piece, the start and the present are one, all things are connected to each other. Ennio was still a young man when I first heard his early compositions, they were life changing for me then and those changes are still effecting me now. Obviously Sell was drugged or fell asleep during this concert and had the most dreadful nightmare and upon waking reported on his nightmare rather than the concert which he obviously missed entirely. These concert videos ( Christchurch in particular) and the Paradiso album have been two of the highlights of the past year. I will stand by my shifting of the track listing on Paradiso moving Meti, Lezzione, and the French Christmas song to after Here's to you. By doing this the whole mood of the album is changed.

Fortunately, I don't think Hayley is ever likely to do things the same way every time; either to use only one instrument for every song, or sing only one genre on one album. That's one thing I appreciate most about her music, besides her voice.

This combination of Morricone and Hayley has unified my whole life of listening to music into one piece, the start and the present are one, all things are connected to each other.,, Interesting thoughts, Llibby, which brought to mind Eliot's 'Burnt Norton' (the first of the poems in Four Quartets). "Time present and time past Are both perhaps present in time future, And time future contained in time past." He develops the thought more fully into a deep philosophical perspective but there is a commonality of thought here. Maybe Eliot was developing a response to Revelations “I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.” Maybe you too, if only subconsciously were thinking on this and that all time is but one inclusive event?
