Hello everybody! RIGHT! I am back from work, still got a runny nose, but I can FINALLY do the report! So me and my sister were going to attend Hayley's concert, but when I got home after work, my sister thought it would be better if my mom attended, as she is leaving New Zealand next month and going back to live in the States. I thought that was a lovely idea, so we got all dressed up to go. We drove and parked under the Civic building, which was very convenient, but a little scary to walk there at night time... First we stopped by Starbucks, and had a one of those delicious seasonal drinks that Starbucks make during this time of year. The Starbucks was right next to the Civic, so we made our way there next. It was PACKED. But absolutely amazing. Oh my goodness. I couldn't take many photos of the venue, but it was seriously like walking into Rivendell from the Lord of the Rings! It was like a dreamland. In fact, even the ceilings had stars on them! Absolutely spectacular. We had front row tickets, and then suddenly, Ross and Jillian come up to me around the same time. So nice to have some HWIers there! Jillian looked absolutely beautiful! All dressed up, and glowing. Ross looked pretty good too. :2fun: I loved his HWI sweatshirt that he was wearing, and how he had smack-bang middle seats. I was SOOO glad they announced that non-flash photography was allowed. I think I would have been absolutely furious if they didn't allow photography. They don't usually, so this was a real improvement! Suddenly the lights went down, the band arrived on stage, and then Hayley's glorious voice started singing "Prayer" before she entered the stage. She then walked onto stage wearing a fabulous nude colored satin dress that came off the shoulder. Her hair was also adorned with a black flower which matched her black shoes. She was truly beautiful. In all honesty, I don't remember the song order! But this is what she sang, in no particular order, and I know that I will forget some, so Ross and Jillian and Jonathan have to help me out! Prayer Scarborough Fair Pokarekare Ana Whispers in a Dream La Califfa Wuthering Heights Both Sides Now Cinema Paradiso I Knew I Loved You Metti Una Sera A Cena Who Painted the Moon Black? The Mummer's Dance Songbird My Heart Belongs to You Vivo Per Lei (with Chase Douglas) Then we had three encores! Amazing Race River Never Saw Blue Hayley changed her dress from the nude one to the red one during the first half, when Chase sang. She then changed to the purple one (not blue!) after the first half. To be continued....

Thanks for the extra photos, Dori! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I have some of the venue, but I will wait until I'm back in Australia at the end of next week to post them. We didn't take any photos of the concert as we wanted to just take in everything for the first time. It was a fabulous night and I was so impressed by Hayley as a performer. Just wow. I think I'm very addicted now! Cheers, Jillian

Hi Jillian, Dori and Ross Many thanks for your reports and photos and I'm so glad the concert exceeded your expectations! You have now experienced exactly what us Brits have been fortunate to also experience over the last few years.
And how lucky to also meet Jill and Sophie. I have only ever met Jill but there is no doubt that the Westenra's are a wonderful family.
Best wishes Martin

Hi Dori!
I can't get over how Hayley walks in those red shoes! I'd end up in hospital in traction with both legs broken in about 15 minutes! :rollin A lot of practise and good balance, I suppose!
Cheers, Jillian

Hi Jillian
I agree! I couldn't believe how she was walking in them as though she was born in those shoes! Absolutely amazing.

Did Hayley go through the "I need to take off these shoes to play the piano" routine?

Hi Martin!
Yes she did! There was a moment there when I thought she was going to try to play in those sky scrapers, but she took them off in the end! :rollin

Thanks for the reviews and photos guys. You all (Dori, Jillian, Ross) must have really good attention to detail! My review is pretty much "wow that was a great concert".. and you all listed out the songs, dresses, and summarised everything well. Agreed that the Civic is awesome, I have been there a few times as well as other venues around the country and Australia. It is most definately the best I've been to. I think the distinction must be that I just sit there in amazement for the whole duration of the concert and when I think back to it its just all I can think is woah that was awesome!!...whereas you guys are onto it and analysing everything! (which of course adds much more value to a forum than my review haha) Was awesome to hear that it was your favourite concerts Dori and Ross. When I said in my earlier post that it was "almost as awesome" as the Black Barn concert that was a really hard judgement to make. I think the key distinction was that it was my first concert, and I was stunned at how awesome Hayley's live performance is!! - that and the fact that it was outdoors and I got drenched in the rain/ drizzle (which probably doesnt sound very appealing, but it was such an awesome experience). Anyway enough about that concert, I think you have done a good job in summing up how awesome it was. I still feel HAYLEYWOWED. It's a strange feeling though, it's like being happy and sad at the same time. Happy that I had such an awesome experience, but sad that it's over and will be a while till I can see a concert of Hayley's live again (the onset of the withdrawall symptoms.. ). Whereas at the concert it is more of a chilled/ stunned feeling! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee I told you that my review is more about my experience than giving you details - sorry! Epically jealous that you guys got to meet and greet with Hayley and her Mum and sis!

Another question - I didn't recognise any of the band members other than Tim. Do you have names and/or nationality? Martin
