Hi Dave and everyone, FNAC.PT (online store) now lists Paradiso: pesquisa.fnac.pt/search/quick.do?text=hayley+westenra&category=all&bl=HGACrera&AID=&submitbtn=Ok Dispatched in 2 to 4 days for 19.90 EUR, I think this isn't an import, as imports take 2 to 4 weeks to dispatch. I can't go to the local FNAC store to confirm if it's available there, I'm at home at the moment and for the next days, recovering from an illness in my leg, the doctor advised maximum rest. Today was the official release day for Germany and I checked my local shops today. It was nowhere! available and they didn't even know about it - huge disappointment! They told me to come back though and I will check again after I come back from Italy, sigh...
Wrote the first Amazon.de review, though and at least Paradiso is available there. For now >.<

So I checked my local shops again today - only one had Paradiso and they had only ONE copy! And it wasn't even with the new releases but had simply been put behind(!) her Pure album. I checked all music/classic/opera magazines that I could find - not a single word about Hayley or the album. Absolutely disappointing. So, no one in Germany will ever know of it except for us fans...such a let-down  I cannot believe that they released such an excellent album without any promotion, sigh... |

Remember, as Hayley told you, "There's definitely a chance". In fact, I'm pretty sure in a recent radio interview, she even said she would be promoting it in Europe, and I'm sure that would include Germany, since that's one of the European countries where she seems the most well-known. |

Yep, that's what I'm trying to remember Joe - I wish I could tell that myself but I asked and they only got that one CD (and also didn't know about her in hte first place >.<). But I keep on being positive, too and I'm looking forward to some promo in Europe! |

Hey everyone! Sorry for not beeing active these last months... But I have some great news, indeed, today is a very VERY happy day to me. First, I got the confirmation that my friend bought and brought the Dream With Me CD from the US, I'll have it on monday! And second, and even more important...  YAY... Today, my class finished early, so I went on a walk, and ended up at the shopping center, where there's a Fnac store. I've been asking from time to time if there are any news about Paradiso, so, I went on asking one more time (Fnac has a very friendly and helpful staff). To my surprise, this time the woman in the classical section, after checking it on the computer said they already had it and, and indeed, thye had at least a dozen of copies clearly displayed in three rows of shelves, and even had it on a listening point! It, it was between true opera CDs, but oh, well, they don't have that much of space in the Classical section, so I wouldn't blame them, it's so great that they have it so visible.That's much more than I expected! I listened to Gabriel's Oboe and I recommended effusively the woman that attended me (she said she'd listen to it so, hopefully, she'll recommend it too to the customers, so I am glad I did my little thing for the promotion). Then I went back home, got the camera and went back to the store... Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow me to take a picture of the shelves and the listening point, I would have needed a special permision to do that (to display a part of the store), I was allowed to take a picture of the CD only... It's a shame, it was such a goregous sight. By the way, I confirm that the artwork was in English. Now, I will start heavy promotion on Facebook and talking to everyone I know about it. I may even try to write e-mails to classical radio stations to see if I can get them to rplay Gabriel's Oboe.And I am hoping that this is a very good sign and that there are some chances tghat she comes to Spain! There's only one drawback in all this..,. The price... Even with the special offer from Fnac, the price is 17,99€, without the discount it goes up to 20,99. That's much more expensive than in most countries... But that's a general problem here, in Spain, with music... SGAE (the Spanish author's society) is known from being very abusive, both with the customers and with the authors musicians themselves... Michal P. S, You'll hear more from me, I'll try to give a update on my dear friend, Andrea Motis, as there are many exciting things happening around her. Also, I would like to introduce a new artist, that as a child prodigy, wowed me even more than Jackie... so stay tunned! |

Hello Michal! Thanks very much for sharing your experience at the Fnac store! Your photo was a little bit too wide so I resized it slightly. As with most stores in the USA, photography and videos of merchandise is frowned upon. So nice for you, Michal!  I hope I can find her CDs in a store where I live, too. Yeah, some employees at my store recently got fired for filming something in the store with their phones and posting it on youtube, and Facebook. Such a silly thing to get fired over, especially at a time like this.  |
