I love her singing 'don't cry alone', I'd never heard it before, I tweeted Mary-Jess to tell her how much I like it and she said album 2 is on the way and she might record this one- so excited!!

I hope so too I think she sings it very well, I heard the song first on Robin Gibb's Titanic album and I think it's a very good song, with some lovely and emotional lyrics, I think Mary Jess sings it with a lot of emotion, fingers crossed she'll record it! best wishes Sing

I was at that performance and it certainly was an emotional moment . There is only one other singer who has stirred up such emotions in me in a live performance, and she is the reason I am here on this forum.

Sad that I will be missing this but very happy because the reason is that I will be seeing All Angels tonight for the first time in over two years.

Gosh! Nearly a year since the last post in this thread. Mary-Jess will be touring during December with a series of Christmas concerts. Dates so far confirmed are 5th December - Cheltenham 7th December - Stroud 8th December - Barnes (SW London) 21st December - Chessington, Surrey 23rd December - Gloucester We are still anticipating further announcements - possibly Cardiff, Birmingham and more. To give an example of Mary-Jess singing Christmas music, here she is singing 'In the Bleak Midwinter' on Songs of Praise. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBGX7MLmQrUMary-Jess will be launching her new website very soon, but meanwhile perhaps the best source of information is the Mary-Jess forum maryjess.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=concert&thread=149&page=1#1736If anyone would like tickets for Chessington, please PM me

It's quite a bit past Christmas, so I'm quite tardy on this, but Mary-Jess posted a free download of her recording of "In The Bleak Midwinter." Apparently the offer was supposed to end Jan 12th, but it still works (as of today)! All you have to do is sign for her mailing list, which I didn't mid doing one bit. www.mary-jess.com/free-download/-Taylor

I'll go and have a look tomorrow afternoon. Chinese Lunar New Year occurs at the first New Moon in Aquarius, which was at 9:41pm Thursday GMT, or 5:41am yesterday in China. The festivities continue for three days anyway. www.moongiant.com/Full_Moon_New_Moon_Calendar.phpRichard

Ooh, I'd love to hear all those songs. I wonder if that Chinese opera song could be on her next album?

Hello Libby! Here's a live performance of "Chun Tian de Ba Lei", sung by somebody called Evy: The Chinese text translates as "Spring ballet - B group of champions". Edit: Her full name is Evy Tan: Richard

Thanks, but I've just heard Mary-Jess' performance of the Chinese opera song from a previous concert. Very nice, though I thought in some spots you could tell she was not really an opera singer. A little sharp, maybe, in some places. But otherwise, a very commendable job.
