Either way, I'll give my support to the winner! Will you be watching the match, Belinda? Or is it too early? I believe it starts at 8pm in the UK. Thank you Thomas & Joyce! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I love the smiley you used, Thomas. Very appropriate! Stephany

Wonderful to hear Hayley's NZ Anthem Stephany, I so miss hearing her sing it for this World Cup Session. As soon as she started my eyes went blurry. And the Marseillaise sounded fantastic too.....mens choir or just the players? Graeme PS on that chart Stephany the game begins at 6am Aust. time = 8am NZ so all Kiwis (just about) will be easily able to watch.

Haha- why am I not surprised, Belinda? PS on that chart Stephany the game begins at 6am Aust. time = 8am NZ so all Kiwis (just about) will be easily able to watch. I suppose you'll be sleeping then, Graeme? And the Marseillaise sounded fantastic too.....mens choir or just the players? Men's choir, Graeme. I personally didn't like it but maybe it's because I heard Hayley before. Another amazing performance - 'a capella', alone in front of 80,000 visitors and performing for millions of French fans watching their TV! I remember watching this game on TV back in 2006 but I seriously can't remember anything about Hayley. I didn't know her by then and I probably missed the anthems. Not possible otherwise - how could I forget such a performance? Stephany

Sun was already quite strong, birds singing, beautiful day....how could I still be lying in bed? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi Stephany Thank you for finding that clip. I will never tire of hearing Hayley sing "God Defend New Zealand" It's just a pity that the cameraman had a goal post directly between him and Hayley! I agree with you about the men's choir. They just didn't sound right. Love Grant

I'll probably follow the NZ v. France match on-line. No chance of this match on TV here. Good luck to both teams. Another reason to sing The Marseillaise... Congrats Stephany on your 3000th post Joe

Thank you Richard and Graeme. I find it ironic to know that although my country is organizing the Rugby World Cup, we're going to play our quarter final in Wales. Contrary to what Hayley's Dad said in a recent interview, there will be no 'home turf' element for France. It'll be a great match, though. I'm just hoping that our team will show at least some 'resistance' to the All Blacks. The French press is not very optimistic - they say it would be a miracle if we win against NZ. Stephany Well, all I can say is : Allez les tous noirs !!How's my French, Stephany ?! It's been a third of a century since I did O-level !! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif (No, I didn't say that just so I could get 200 posts !)

Hi Jeff, I spotted a little error of vocabulary in your sentence. It would be better if you say: Allez les bleus !! Stephany PS: Sorry Proboards, I won't speak French anymore!

I won't be straying far from my TV this weekend. Shame really because we're having an Indian summer in the UK right now but then the Rugby World Cup only comes along once every four years.

Prime Minister Helen Clark and President Nicolas Sarkozy will both attend the quarter final in Cardiff. They were both in Paris this morning. Stephany

We're going in a bar with friends to watch the match this evening. I'll be wearing my HWI polo shirt with the little Kiwi and blue scarf to show my support to both teams and say 'May the best team win!'. The stupid thing is that the French team will wear a blue jersey with white shorts (I've never ever seen that! ) and the Blacks will wear grey clothes. It's not really the "Blues" against the "Blacks" anymore. Stephany

GOOD LUCK ENGLAND (they'll need it as indeed France). The winners of today's quarters will then meet in the semi-final and you never know it might just be England v France! Look out! A pig just flew over my house. Martin

You are right, Martin. France and England are in a similar situation : everyone sees them as the loser. WE NEED TO WIN TO PROVE THEM WRONG! Go England, I'll be watching and cheering up for you guys! Stephany
