Hi Paulo. It was even number three on 6 June as was shown below. www.music-chart.info/Japan/archive/genre/23/Vocal/2011/06/06So you can imagine how Hayley's Amazing Grace was loved here in Japan. I was intending to report Japanese Paradiso faster than anyone in HWI but my intention was completely failed. I had a big problem obtaining the CD. The local CD stores were closed. I went to the nearest one on 8 June but the store was out of business and was closed informed by the next store where they sell books. I went to another store and I found the same situation. Then I went to another store a bit far away but the owner said, “It was sold out”. Although I was not able to buy, I even felt happy to hear the word “sold out”. They say that the CD business is not going well these days in Japan. The Internet is changing our life style as well as the business style. I think I have to order it to CD Japan or I must try iTune now. Best wishes. Maya

I just got mine today!! So far, I just played the music video, and the 2 bonus tracks. Amazing Grace was great. That one part is still a tiny bit disappointing after the duet with Minako Honda, but the rest of the song is good. I noticed an error in the lyrics to La Califfa. Where Hayley says "Your heart is blind to all that I see, the booklet says to the things that I see. But Hayley clearly says "All". Oh, and CD Japan finally shows the album cover.

Oh can someone please tell me if there's any change in the recording XD Yesterday I was listening to her treasure/prayer albums, and Paradiso recording didn't really bring out her perfect, crystal clear voice, (I'm saying this only after a million times hearing the NZ version I got) I don't mind getting the Japanese version if it really has recognizable quality improvement.

as I read more news of earthquakes in Christchurch, my Japanese edition of Paradiso has arrived.
Don't have a Geiger counter to run over the parcel though !
Really gotta work today so I will try and run the two editions simultaneously tonight.

I don't see how you could hear each one over the other. Not that it's really loud, but that seems too hard to me. To me it seems like it would work just as well to play each song from each CD, one right after another. I think that would work well enough for me, at least. Sounds stick in my brain, so that I can tell when things are different.

Sounds stick in my brain too Libby. I think I could do an A/B comparison. There is usually music playing in my head, even when I'm not playing it. Right now it is Per Natale (NZ version). I think it would be easy to compare.

Or, just open both the songs in two media players, start at the same time or almost same time, reduce the volume of one while other's playing, quickly mute the one playing to listen to the other and such. That is what I did with the samples, and they were very different to me...

I have managed to play the Japanese edition up to track ten only twice. I honestly can't tell it is not the NZ edition.
The samples we heard on the Japanese site may just have been put through a graphic equaliser (A multistep tone control) to bring up the mid range and the range Hayley sings in. This may have been done because many people would listen to the samples on inferior quality speakers on their laptops and their pc systems.
I haven't had a graphic equaliser for years so I don't have a way to do something similar as I listen.

I never thought I would be the one saying this about Amazing Grace, a song that I had grown weary of a long time ago. I had a bit of an "Oh no not again" moment when I saw it listed for the Japanese Paradiso and wondered, why not do a Japanese version of Majesty for them. But this Japanese version is quite thrilling, Hayley sings the part that we are normally used to Minako Honda singing, G-d it gave me goosebumps. It's strange but it will possibly be this track that many Japanese folk will buy the album for and by gosh are they in for a treat, Hayley's voice sounds great on it. Having said that as Mr Cowel would say. I was listening to the Japanese Paradiso on a Dolby Surround system, I put the level up as much as possible (12db) on the "CENTRE" speaker and turned the main front speakers physically away to the sides, and voila, There was Hayley bang in the middle, Huh ! I could nearly smell her hairspray.. It produced more or less the effect of "The Samples" we heard on the Japanese site. P.S. The Japanese version of Profumo di Limone is very pleasant too. The DVD only has one track on it, I had hoped it would have had the Morricone interview / commentary on it as well.

I still haven't even been charged for mine yet! Yet I've had it since Saturday. This has happened before. And then when they finally charged it, it ended up being a little bit more than they originally showed me. I don't like that too much. They should charge me right away, not wait till it costs more.
