I heard on the radio this morning that flights to and from Australia and New Zealand are being disrupted by a cloud of volcanic ash. I hope this doesn't affect Hayley's planned trip to Australia later this month.

I'm delighted to be back on HWI. AS a matter of fact I'm delighted to be alive. I guess it wasn't my time to go. I hope be driving soon; maybe next week. Gotta get a new car though. My old one was kinda demolished by a drunken driver. He almost demolished me. It sure makes you take inventory of your life. I'm a bit of a different person now. Thanks to all of you that sent your good wishes to me.

Hi Larry, glad to see you back with your new identity. we were worried about you, Just goes to show, you can have the best tyres and brakes and the safest car on the road, you can be the safest driver and still be hit by a drunk driver. why would we need a gps to go to Belfast ? That would take all the fun of driving through the different areas of the beautiful North of Ireland with Republic of Ireland plates on the car. Red rag to a bull for some of the nice folks up there. It can feel a bit like some of the scenes from Deliverance when you travel into the wrong areas up there. I nicked Paulo's logo to put in this post for you, thought it was a cool avatar for you. spent today painting the exterior of my parents house in blazing sunshine and listening to Winter Magic on an MP3 player stuck in my hat. the player puts all the tracks from each album into alphabetical order, so it is a novel track sequence compared to the original CD. Wow ! I am still gobsmacked at how good Veni Veni and Sail On My dreams are. Anyway glad to see back at the keyboard again, best wishes from sunny Dublin.

Hi Larry, Good to hear you are back in action. Which bits of you did they replace? What happened to the drunk dirver? I hope they threw the book at him. It's a very stupid thing to do in my opinion. Reminds me of a story my brother tells about the time he drove through Paris on a particularly hot summers day, with a wine bottle in his car, taking swigs from it from time to time, and the look on the face of the gendarme that saw him do it. The bottle contained water, but the gendarme didn't know that! Martin D

Hi Martin They tried to replace my brain ; but couldn't find one small enough. The drunken driver lost his license and got two years probation. Had I died , which was in question for a while, he would have been charged with involuntary manslaughter. I'm very lucky I had a bad concussion with brain swelling and I was out for ten days. The only problem is a partial loss of hearing in my left ear. I was very lucky.Guess my hard head saved me.
