Sure, but it doesn't change the fact that the first recording sounds better to some of us. It's just our opinion. Of course, we have yet to hear the whole thing. Maybe the rest is better. It's not like we're saying she sounds bad.

Oooh, I wonder if mine's on the way, too. I'd better go check my inbox!! Winter Magic was dispatched the day before it's release in Japan... well, at least it was the day before Pacific standard time.

I have decided not to order this edition of Paradiso yet, because of its cost. I will await more information from those who have ordered it before deciding if I am willing to pay an estimated £40 to £50 UK (depending on delivery method and seller, for the CD/DVD version). UK Import VAT of around £6 will be payable together with a small credit card fee and an £8 Royal Mail handling charge, on top of the CD cost and shipping cost from Japan. I hope someone can persuade me that it's worth ordering in spite of the horrendous cost (five times what the UK version will cost me and nearly three times what the NZ version cost me!) Anyone who has not previously imported CDs from overseas - beware of any similar import regulations and costs in your own Country!Dave

Hi Dave,by hokey thats a bit expensive isn't it? I don't think I would be paying that price either the NZ version I have for $21.50 NZ will do me thanks all the same.I think there are times when you have to draw the line IMO.
but good luck to those of you who will no doubt pay that price hope you enjoy it as I am sure you will,
cheers,
Rodders

Well, I'm with Dave - I haven't ordered this version yet for the same reasons. But I might do if there is enough that is unique about ths version to warrant it.

Well, I can't go without hearing the extra songs, and having the music video on DVD! Plus, since I'm the lyrics person on Hayley Online, I needed to get the version that most likely will have them. I like the different cover, too. So at least it's easy to tell them apart. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBTW, I did get a notification yesterday, too! This is probably my cheapest order from CDJapan so far. Mainly because I used to choose a more expensive shipping method. I don't remember how much WM cost, though.

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif My CD has been shipped too. With the high NZ Dollar my CD is relatively cheap at $57 ( Last Hayley CD cost $70) and we don't pay any extra taxes for importing into NZ .

Hi everyone, There is a new video of Hayley providing a message of support to Japan and recording the new version of Amazing Grace here: www.universal-music.co.jp/classics/hayley_westenra/paradiso/index.htmlJust click on the little thumbnail and it should come up. I also checked Japan's Itunes this morning and it seems that the other bonus track is a Japanese version of Cinema Paradiso and not Whispers in a Dream. I'm a teeny bit disappointed, as I was hoping for the recording of Whispers in a Dream! Ah well, I'm sure it will be as equally beautiful. Cheers, Jillian

It seems that there are in fact TWO additional tracks on the Japanese release. I don't know what the first one is (my Japanese isn't all that great!) but the second one is Amazing Grace sung in Japanese. I hadn't realized that Ennio Morricone had written that one!! <LOL>
