This is quite difficult.
1 HAYLEY WESTENRA (of course)
Well, top ten is too narrow, and Hayley is in a league of her own, so 11 of my top 10 are Hayley.
101. Freddie Mercury 110. Roy Orbison
120. Faryl Smith
150. Frank Sinatra
160. Katherine Jenkins
170. Sandy Denny 171. Luciano Pavarotti 172. Joan Baez 180. Barbra Striesand
I might have included singers like Toni Gibson, Annelies and one I first heard today thanks to Nicola, Philippa Lusty, but I don't think I have heard enough of any of them to include them in a list like this. Camilla Kerslake is improving rapidly, and could well make it too. I'm looking forward to her new album. Jackie Evancho - well, she too needs a few more years before I can rate her in a list like this.
Might as well mention Jessica Hill, my 6 year old granddaughter who sang a whole song solo in her school's nativity play. I know another singer who started out like that! And judging from what I heard of her singing along with Hayley in my car, she is pretty good - she sings perfectly in tune at least.

Hi Tracy You left out Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Eddie Arnold, Chrystal Gale, Tammy Wynette, Ray Price, Roy Clark, Reba McIntyre, Shaina Twain, Faith Hill, Barbara Mandrell, Bonnie Raitt, etc Just kidding Tracy. It's hard to name ten best unless you are able to list the ten best in a particular category. Those are just a few of my favorite country singer in addition to some that you mentioned. Also I think you would have to differentiate between male and female artists. Larryxx

Much love Tracy. i would never have taken you for a country girl, tracy ; still you could be me... the only DCX/ Hayley fan in all of chorus [thats the part of telecom i work in]... Hi Spiderman. YOUR NOT serious are you? I raise cattle, compete in rodeo’s and gymkhana’s, ride a horse, drive 30 wheeler road trains ( trucker through and through) and live in the outback and you can’t understand why I AM A COUNTRY AND WESTERN GIRL . Well let me just say that I have never heard a lady Ga Ga song played over the loud speakers at a rodeo yet, the cowboys would revolt and the cow girls would throw up, I guess I have been raised on country and western music but I do like soft romantic songs from the likes of Dean Martin, I think anyone that is a country and western music fan could quite easily like Hayley’s music but the one music I totally hate is heavy metal or anything similar. BUT BUT BUT when I am flying the chopper I LOVEEEEEEEE “danger Zone” ha ha .. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkwHlR-9eTY&feature=relatedthis is an R44 chopper exactly like mine. and when I’m rounding up stock by air I play this over and over and over Hi Larry. To be honest I don’t think I have a favourite country and western singer, more like favourite songs, the song I like best from Hank Williams is Wedding Bells, Have you ever heard the song TEDDY BEAR, that is such a tear jerker, every 18 wheeler driver knows it and when you pull into a truck stop out here you can almost place a bet that it will be one of the songs playing or Dolly’s coat of many colours. Much love Tracy.

Apparently, Marty Robbins' song "Big Iron" is featured in the video game, "Fallout: New Vegas". One of the young fellows at work asked me if I had ever heard of Marty Robbins and that's all it took. I had "El Paso" replaying in my head all day long. I even caught myself whistling the tune. I was surprised to find a large number of YouTube videos from his TV program. Good stuff. BillR

“A prophet is not recognized in his own land”
There seems to be much truth in the above quote.
Celtic Woman are almost unknown or ignored in Ireland.
Olivia Newton John, Not favoured by the Australians ?
Hayley Westenra often not favoured be New Zealanders ?
I am just as curious about those who don't appear on your lists
