Thanks for the heads up on the new pics. The song playing on her site is "A Bit of Earth" and it is exquisite! What a ravishing tone this singer has! The is no other word for it. Simply ravishing.

I agree wholeheartedly Steve. Toni is the BEST singer I've heard since Hayley. I've lost count of the number of times I've replayed "Wild Horses."

Yes, but to be honest it put me off a bit! It detracted, rather tha added to my opinion of Toni, despite Gray Bartlett being involved. Tattoos, Goth, why does she need that? She has a voice for heaven's sake. What else matters.

She has a voice for heaven's sake. What else matters. Toni wasn't discovered as a young child. She's lived a significant part of her life already and has made powerful choices for herself and makes no apologies for her independent mind. I salute her decision to acquire interesting body art. I thought the intricate Egyptian tattoo was beautifully done. The goth thing is also part of her charm. Toni has many fans who are thrilled that she's not the stereotypical "angel" that we've seen time and again in her genre. I suspect she will make a major name for herself in the years to come on the strength of her one-in-a-million voice. Her image is refreshing and I wouldn't change a thing about her.

Exactly, so why should it detract her appeal for you?

I think it is just me. I have never seen the point in tatoos, oe indeed over heavy makeup. It is not personality for me, it is a substitute for personality. The Lady Gaga tendancy. It says "I'm not a very interesting person in my own right, so lets pretend to be something else".
Or as Leon Rosselson put it
"The flowers that bloom in the spring, tra-la, have a delicate subtle scent but those made of plastic are not so fantastic, they're just an experiment."

Sorry Nicola, I think that's horrible! I hope Hayley doesn't get any ideas. We need to remember that New Zealand is a tattoo-intensive country and it alarms no one to see inked skin wherever you go. I'm sure Hayley's Maori ancestors/distant cousins would be pleased if she sported something that honors their traditions. Obviously it would be a career killer if she went overboard, but I see no harm in her getting something tasteful. Toni's tattoos are aesthetically pleasing to many and will not stop her from achieving success since she's already known for possessing them and they're no big deal in her home land.
