Toni Gibson is a young Kiwi soprano. She is in talks with Gray Barlett (more seasoned Hayley fans will recognise that name). So far, she has only recorded two demo songs and put up some crude videos on youtube (but they are still stunning). I really like her. This is a *very* raw recording of 'My Immortal' by Evanescence. www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8dzulaTtqgAnd here is 'Music of the Night' You can hear her better in this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XOGEMS9u-YWhat I recommend most of all is to give a listen to her studio recording of 'Wild Horses'. It's absolutely beautiful. You can listen to it on the front page of her website www.tonigibson.co.nzHope you enjoy.

May I? Here goes:
Toni Gibson's YouTube songs are okay but don't impress me much. However, her studio rendition of "A Bit Of Earth" is absolutely ravishing. Her strikingly clear voice comes through beautifully, putting her straightaway in the category of SUPREMELY FANTASTIC VOCALISTS! "Wild Horses" is also gorgeous. Toni is unmistakably great when the songs and recording conditions are right. I hope whoever's managing her pulls the amateurish YouTube videos and replaces them with her polished and more remarkable sound.
Prediction: Toni will be signed by a major label in 2011 and have a brilliant international career within 2 years. She will go on to win Grammies, Brits and all kinds of prestigious recognition. The voice is so striking, so genuine, so wonderful, how can she miss?

Very few singers have the ability to "stop me in my tracks" ... Hayley was one of the rare few, in fact the only one of the last decade. And now there's Toni Gibson.
I've listened to everything from her that's available online and am convinced she will surpass in fame all of the singers whose names make up the "Other Music" section of this forum. In fact, I'm fully expecting someone like Costa Pilavachi to snap her up on the spot if he should be fortunate enough to hear her sing. She is the real deal if there ever was one in "Other Music".

Thanks so much for finding that Nicola. It's simply superb and puts Susan Boyle's version firmly in the shade.

Better than Faryl ? That's a brave call but I think you may be right.

It is lovely to hear a voice working easily within it's abilities or range. A Bit of Earth is very pleasant to listen to, Toni makes it sound as if it is easy to sing (I am sure it takes some degree of effort at least ) There is something very understated about the sound, It is not shouting out loud to be heard above the clamour, It is singing quietly, to be listened to. I wish Toni all the luck in the world with her music career.
