An excellent promo I thought. I hope it gets shown on UK TV around the time of the album launch here.

I think its a great promo, I love all the short videos for this album, it remineds me of when they did a similar thing for 'treasure' and 'best of' and it seems that they didn't for Winter Magic which was a shame- I hope they show them too- so as long as lots of people see them and Hayley is on UK TV a lot as well!!

I have the N Z version of Paradiso and it's been playing in my car since I got it from Marbecks. It is nothing short of spectacular. Hayley's word to Gabriels Oboe are inspired. Raven's album has Gabriel's Oboe on it. I would love to hear Hayley to sing it with Raven. Paradiso sounds better to me every time I hear it. I think it will be a big hit .....at least I hope it will. The album has something for every taste in music. Well maybe not the country folks; but I don't think Ennio is into that type of music. I hope there is another video, but when she went to Rome to do it, she just said she was going to shoot a music video, singular, never plural. So I won't count on it. But they really should! Why shouldn't they do more than one? What I'm a little confused and worried about is the end, where it says "Paradiso... Autumn 2011" !? Do they consider August to be autumn (nearly a month before the autumn equinox), or does this mean they've moved the release date? Okay, so it's almost Sept., but it's technically stil summer for the majority of that month too. Or, are they just saying autumn, to encompass the time period between Aug. 29th and Oct. 18, meaning they might actually use this video in the US, too? I won't count on that, either.

Do they consider August to be autumn (nearly a month before the autumn equinox), or does this mean they've moved the release date? You and me both! I would also consider the UK release date to be a summer one and no, I don't think the release date has changed. Mark Forrest just played a track on ClassicFM radio this morning and several times referred to the August release date - he didn't even say "late August" either. Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant and everyone, August 29th is only three days before the official start of Autumn (meteorologically speaking) so 90%+ of the UK sales of Paradiso will occur in the Autumn. But I do wonder if they are considering a one week delay - this would have the benefit of achieving a higher chart position for the same number of sales in its first week. It's because generaal CD sales normally increase in the week containing the 1st of the month then fall back in the following week, but fans will buy a new release in its first week anyway. A higher chart position equals better publicity in the media. Also, the bank holiday on August 29 could complicate things, not sure how that works though, I'll need to investigate. The best news so far is today's play on the Classic FM chart show, nearly ten weeks before release, I think this is unheard of for any Hayley album since Pure! Cheers, Dave

Cheers, Dave Interesting Dave! Must admit I'm a little puzzled by the Bank Holiday release date but if they are considering a delay, no one told Mark Forrest this morning The early airplay is very exciting; as is the promo video that's quoting the autumn release date. Wonder what other little surprises await us down the line??? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

A stunning promo indeed! But I wish they did not write things like this: "NEVER BEFORE HAS MORRICONE ALLOWED WORDS TO BE WRITTEN TO HIS MUSIC" because isn't true, and I consider it to be very serious when this information is provided by Decca as I'm sure Decca is well aware of Ennio and Dulce work. Best wishes, Paulo Correia

Hi Paulo, That kind of thing annoys me too, it's usually record company publicists being loose with their words (and sometimes deliberately misleading to hype things up). And it should not happen. Apart from Dulce Pontes, there is of course Nella Fantasia too, perhaps more. I wonder if it should be "words in English to be written..." or "words to be written by the actual vocalist" or similar? They exaggerate too when they say "biggest selling classical artist of the 21st Century" because that should read "she has the biggest selling UK classical album of the 21st Century so far". At least one other artist has sold more UK classical albums in total than Hayley, in this century, probably two. But I don't know the Worldwide situation, because definitions of "classical album" are different in each country. I hope they get this kind of inaccuracy right before the UK and US releases. Cheers, Dave

Cheers, Dave Hi Dave, There are also Joan Baez lyrics on the soundtrack of the film "Sacco And Vanzetti". Regarding Ennio & Dulce collaboration, Ennio did want to record an album with Dulce's voice, and all the 15 tracks (16 on the Portuguese edition) have lyrics written by several lyricists in at least four languages (English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese). I think "Hayley herself wrote lyrics for some of the most beautiful music by Morricone" as you suggested, or something like that, would be more accurate. "Paradiso" is very special by itself, no need to promote it with wrong facts! Best wishes, Paulo Correia

Hi Dave,
You know it is inaccurate, so do I and several others, but most don't. And it sounds good. Hayley needs all the help she can get. "The purest voice in the world" works though, or even "The most beautiful voice in the world".
But I might think they could be open to a complaint to the ASA if the real holders of those titles can be bothered!
