Hayley says she is rcording the vocals this week. So presuamably the instrumental/orchestral parts have already been recorded.

But in one of the interviews, I think she said she would be recording with Ennio's orchestra. So some songs might be recorded at the same time.

Martin D Well, if you take a look at exerpts from the "making of" Bernstein's recording of West Side Story soundtrack, with José Carreras and Hayley Kiri Te Kanawa, you'll see the songs are recorded as a whole, vocals and instrumental at the same time, with Bernstein conducting as it was a concert. We cannot be sure, but maybe Hayley is using the same way of recording for this album. Michal

The anticipation is building nicely about this new album, I just rooted out a copy of Chi Mai (AKA) The Theme from The Life and times of David Lloyd George also listed as from "Le Professionnel" on some albums. I know I have it somewhere on the original 7" vinyl and people loved it when they heard it played, but seldom knew who it was or what it was from. It is such an incredibly beautiful piece of music, the violin sections are gorgeous and might give some insight as to why Ennio wants Hayley's voice..I wonder did Ennio hear of Hayley through some of Debbie Wiseman's musical scores, or further back in time, Odyssey perhaps ? I am really getting quite excited about this collaboration. I was only about ten years old when I first heard Ennio's music in the cinema, ( One of the Clint Eastwood films) loud and in very distinct stereo, I was just amazed, we only had a radiogram at home with 2 or 3 watts output in mono. I pestered anyone who would listen to get me the LP of the music, My brother got me the PICKWICK version for my birthday and I knew the minute I put it on, it was not the original version and so began my pursuit of recorded music and bigger and louder and better sound systems, I still have the PICKWICK one somewhere but eventually managed to get the Hugo Montenegro version on an RCA LP from 1968. Believe it or not on the sleeve notes (in 1968 ) they mention the use of computers for assisting in the recording process 1968 I hope Hayley gets some time off to sight see in Rome, such a historic city, She might also get a chance to read Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, a great reason to run around Rome looking at the historic buildings and sites..

Would I be going off topic be mentioning another great soundtrack album by Ennio Morricone a real easy listening gem.
Once upon a time in America
It features Edda Dell,Orso as vocalist
and the recurring theme Amapola" the popular song, written by Spanish composer Joseph LaCalle

Hi everyone, As I'm prone to do, I'm quite excited about this new album, so with further details of it's content, I've made another mock cover for it. Cheers, Jillian

Love your cover Jillian !!! My only criticism is the text size & visibility. Will be very interested to see the Decca one. Please not a distracting reference to Ennio....he doesn't need the publicity. Graeme

Hi Graeme, Thanks! Yes, I agree that it's a bit tricky to see the 'Hayley' bit on screen... although I think if it was on paper it would turn out fine (lol). :rollin I wonder if the Decca cover will have a cover like Ennio's last collaboration.. I suppose the advantage would be that it might draw attention to Morricone's involvement , which may get some more fans? Cheers, Jillian

Hi Jillian, I like it.
Where did that title come from? I thought the title was "The Beauty Within".

Cheers, Jillian Hi Jillian I love you dear; but I don't like the perspective of Hayley's pic. Please forgive me for making a critical remark in light of all your great work. Please don't take umbrage to my remark. Love Larry

It looks like a Hayley manniquin. Too smooth, so it looks somewhat artificial. Not my absolute favorite look for Hayley, either. And the building looks too close behind her to have her head be that far up to the windows! :2fun: I would think they would at least mention Ennio somewhere on the album packaging, like they did for Andrea Bocelli, but I guess it's different when it's just a duet partner for 1 little song.

Hi all Has anyone else realised that in quite a few of Hayley's album covers, real or mock, Hayley's not looking directly at the camera? Pure, Odyssey (not the UK version), Treasure, HSJS 1 and 2, Jillian's mock of 2010 album and I can't decide for Winter Magic. She seems to be looking above the camera. Haha just a random observation. But I agree with Libby, her hair in this photo looks.. like a 3D rendering of one of those Final Fantasy anime things (they actually look kinda real though). Haha I wonder what the camera-man did! cheers, Joanne

Not my absolute favorite look for Hayley, either. And the building looks too close behind her to have her head be that far up to the windows! I would think they would at least mention Ennio somewhere on the album packaging, like they did for Andrea Bocelli, but I guess it's different when it's just a duet partner for 1 little song. Hi Libby, I rather imagined that Hayley would be standing on a bridge like the one behind her -- which would bring her up to that height level. But never mind, it's just for a laugh. Hi Jillian, I like it. Where did that title come from? I thought the title was "The Beauty Within". Martin D Hi Martind -- I just made it up -- an adaptation of 'Once Upon a Time in the West'. Hey Jillian...I have to put this up again hey....I think its awesome hey...welll done....a lot of creativity in this hey....u getting really good at photo shop hey... GO for it....I dont know what it reminds me of but its so serene hey....awesome... Sandy xxx Thanks Sandy! I came across this tutorial here: effects.worth1000.com/tutorials/161629/make-up And thought that I'd give it a go. I only have Photoshop Elements 7 -- so I had to adapt the steps slightly -- but you can do it all with my program. Once I finished playing around with it, I figured I might as well turn it into an mock album cover and share it with everyone. Cheers, Jillian
