And people thought I was strange not wanting to hear CW ladies drowning out Hayley. That was different, though, since they are a group all singing together; any additional singers on Hayley's album will be merely background choirs/singers. I've never noticed her being drowned out in songs like Winter's Dream, for example. Maybe a tiny bit in Quanta Qualia, but you can still easily tell who the main singer is.

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif On SKY movies last week in NZ they had a Clint Eastwood season showing some of his early "Spaghetti Western" movies. I really enjoyed these and Ennio's music was fantastic, especially in the Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I think Ennio will write some really great songs for Hayley.

The article about Blackburn today said "Once the tour finishes, Hayley will be back in the studio to record her fourth international album, with Italian composer Ennio Morricone..." I thought she said she was recording this month. Is it being pushed back again, or would this just be finishing the recording? I wouldn't expect her to finish the whole album this month, especially if she starts at the end of the month. So, I hope that by "back in the studio" they mean because she's "back" from the tour, and is going to finish the recording that she starts this month. I asked her about it on Twitter, maybe she'll tell us. She answered about the misquotes, so maybe she'll answer this, too.

Hi Libby and everyone The article about Blackburn today said "Once the tour finishes, Hayley will be back in the studio to record her fourth international album, with Italian composer Ennio Morricone..." Hayley promised on Twitter that she would tell us when she starts recording her new album, which she hasn't yet done. As Hayley herself retweeted the Blackburn interview, she must be happy with its accuracy. It seems, therefore, that she won't be recording until after the tour. Until and unless Hayley tells us something different, it would appear that recording has been pushed back until at least August. Best wishes Grant

But Hayley told us earlier in June that it would be a few weeks! How many times is it going to be pushed back? Until she's 80? So what's the rehearsing, then? I wouldn't have thought her usual musicians would be on the tour, but maybe they are. I'm hoping it's for the album, though.

Never mind, apparently she has already started. I'll let Nicola tell you. I'm wondering if the quote she used today was her way of telling us.

Ian Tilley said she had started recording yesterday. He may be mistaken since he has confirmed has has nothing to do with this album ("someone a lot more important than me"). He did only say "I *think* she has" but at the same time, he sounded pretty sure.
I think Martin heard him say this with me, so many Martin can quote what he said better.

Hi Nicola and All Yes, I asked Ian if Hayley had started recording the new album yet and he definitely replied "yes" but didn't add any more. So, it is likely that some tracks are now cut but perhaps not yet edited. More than that we shouldn't speculate and wait perhaps for an update from Hayley herself at one of the forthcoming concerts.
I also asked Ian if he was in any way involved and he said not and that he was very busy over the next few months working on two Decca recording projects.
Cheers Martin

Hi, Reading this thread.....has Hayley started recording ....or not yet.... The first thing in my mind....what is meant by recording ? Maybe we can ask, has Hayley started creating her album...and that is what she did. With todays technique, it is possible that some orchestral parts of the songs by Ennio Morricone have been recorded......sent by Email to London....and Hayley added (recorded)her vocal parts to it, her musicians their musical parts...and so on.Creating an album, is working on so many parts, writing, singing, recording, rehearsing, mixing, maybe deleting, and singing again..... When Hayley goes to Rome, i have the idea that the, i like to call them "rough" parts of the album, are going to be polished to the final result. Recording an album nowadays, is not only going to a studio, and sing...... When all parts are finished, and everyone working on this album is satisfied.... they come together on what will be Hayley's new album !!!! Joyce

I go with Grant, she definitely said she would tell us when she started recording, and I've never known her not honour a promise. She is not the scatterbrain that some might think from her slightly zany personality.
I'd guess that the reshearsal has to do with Stirling or possibly the Air Show as well. Remember, she hasn't performed in public since January. She might feel a bit rusty.

Well, I go with Ian. Maybe it's along the lines of what Joyce said, maybe just various parts of it, but still it's a start. So, maybe she hasn't started major recording, but it sounds to me like Ian was fairly certain. Some kind of recording must've been started. Everything keeps saying that she's going to record in Rome, so maybe most of it will be done in Rome.

Hi everyone! I'm really surprised that, in the Ennio's songs you thought Hayley could sing on her new album, nobody mentionned Once Upon a Time in the West or Once Upon a Time in the Revolution. Yes, these soundtracks do not contain songs with lyrics but each definitely contain a splendid vocal theme. And they perfectly fit a singer like Hayley, because those theme can't be sing by an opera singer with a strong vibrato and whose voice comes really from her chest and sounds round and thick, but they need a soft and really pure, light and airy voice, just like Hayley's voice. So I think those two themes would sound really great with Hayley. And that wouldn't be that strange to hear her sing a song with just the vocal; she already did that with Bachianas Brasileiras by Villa-Lobos. So I think, if the newspaper's statement reveals itself to be true (that she will sings some of the most famous Ennio's compositions), it's a possibility to not exclude. Besides, beyond fitting her perfectly, those two themes, and especially Once Upon a Time in the West, are amongst Ennio's famous works. I wouldn't like her to sing "Nella Fantasia". I've heard it too many times and I'm quite forgetting the beauty of the theme, so Hayley's recording would be the one too much. Otherwise, I read the previous comments of the thread, and there was one point that was raised, even before we knew she was working with Ennio: Hayley often mentionned that she was writing songs for her new album. So I guess we don't have to be worried too much about what the album will be made of. Plus, if we look to Ennio's biography, he's only going to 82, not 85 or 90, and his 70-year carrer will be marked in 2016 only, so in my opinion, a tribute album would not be justified. We all know that it is a Hayley album, it's an international album, thus I guess a lot of people are waiting for Hayley's work, especially as her last international albul was in 2007 (I don't include RoD as it mostly contained old songs). And her record company can expect that, that people are waiting for HER album and not a tribute album; I think that would be non-sense for a new international album to turn out to be a tribute album. I can be totally wrong about it and the album could be a fifty-fifty Ennio/Hayley, but I do believe that would be a mistake from Decca to label it as "Hayley's new international album" and to make of it a total or just in part tribute album to Ennio. I guess that if they mentionned that Hayley will sing some of Ennio's famous works, it is because you can't work with the Great Morricone without wanting to pay tribute just a bit to his amazing carreer by singing one of his own work. But my intuition tells me that it won't be only about it, and I will follow Jillian, who first mentionned it, and others thinking about "On the Wings of Time" and suggesting that Hayley writes some lyrics and Ennio composes the music for them. Cheers, Juliette In case anyone has not yet discovered this, Itunes has many free podcasts of Ennio's work...BRILLIANT STUFF. Also has movie music with vocal accompaniment for purchase. Graeme PS HMV London is selling off it's DVD stocks prior to Blu Ray being the main HD video medium. They are really very cheap. I have already bought some including "Once upon a Time in the West" I saw it years ago in Germany as "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" [Play me the Song of Death] A very appropriate title !!!

So Hayley says she'll be in Rome for 2 weeks to record the album. She must be leaving soon, if that's why she can't do the Gloria concert. And it looks as though she has an event on the 25th, so she'd have to be back by then. Yes, that is 2 weeks from the 11th!

And Hayley said in her BBC Radio Wales interview a few days ago that she is already looking towards her next album after that! Dave
