Hi Bob and thanks for the great report! I can only say that I am in complete awe at the idea of Hayley being prepared to "step in" on Meav's behalf, rather than performing her own material- that can only take real guts to do! Bob, thank you for being there to support Hayley in Boston. I'm sure Hayley greatly appreciates all the support she can possibly get. 'Celtic Woman' is still a new venture for her. Andrew I'm not being lazy, but I totally support Andrew's comments above! Go, Hayley, Go, Go, Go!!Grant

Hi Bob
Many thanks for your report. I was assuming that Hayley was feeling better after her illness, still, it must have been a little daunting for her to perform someone elses material with I assume, not much rehersal time. Very well done Hayley.
Best wishes Mark.

Hello Bob and everyone else, Thanks so much for the report on the Boston concert! Now I'm really excited about seeing Hayley on the 23rd! Hopefully by that time she will be in the groove of things. But I can totally understand why she would have been a bit nervous at her first concert on the tour. I can't wait to hear her sing Dulaman! (as well as plenty of other songs) I can't believe the already very long tour has been extended a whole extra month! It looks like CW will be at some of the same venues as before. That would be cool if Hayley could tour during June so I can see her again, but I doubt she will be able to.

By the way, Bob, did Hayley sing Laschia Ch'io Pianga ?! Because I heard it was the only one Meav didn't sing during the tour (though she sang Scaborough Fair and The Last Rose of Summer). She didn't do Laschia Ch'io Pianga(sigh), but did an outstanding performance on Scarbough fair, and did a duet with Chloe on last Rose of Summer.

Thanks for the answer, Bob. I wonder why they removed the song - it's a shame, really. But her duet with Chloe must be fantastic - I love them both, and I'm sure their voices blend perfectly. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Bob:
Thanks so much for the report. I’m hopeful that we’ll continue to get reports from various U.S. venues so we can compare notes and keep track of Hayley’s adventures with CW.
Hayley is so smart and perceptive (this is obvious from interviews) that she can’t help but be aware of the sensibilities of Meav’s fan base in the U.S. While those of us who esteem Hayley above all can’t imagine anyone ever being disappointed by her appearance, expectations are everything. If you expect Meav and don’t get her…well you know the story.
Fortunately, Hayley’s sheer brilliance is likely to win over all but the most cynical. As the tour progresses the confusion and surprise of the Meav/Hayley saga will presumably diminish. I do hope they allow Hayley to be Hayley, and not Meav’s stand-in. After all, we’re talking about Hayley Westenra here - The fairest voice in all the land.

She didn't do Laschia Ch'io Pianga(sigh), but did an outstanding performance on Scarbough fair, and did a duet with Chloe on last Rose of Summer. The Celtic Woman Show is run a bit differently from Hayley's concerts. Some of the backing instruments are usually not live. I can not say for sure that is still so on this tour but it has been on prior tours. On past tours the backing instruments and the lighting were done with automation using a network of computers and controllers. This perhaps may explain the lack of Laschia Ch'io Pianga being performed and also the reason Hayley is doing Meav's arrangements rather than her own. This also perhaps is another reason Hayley is seeming a little nervous when she normally performs relaxed. I am sure that with her wonderful talent after a couple of shows she will be relaxed and up to her usual self again.

Bob, Did Hayley meet with fans after the show? Did you see anyone take pixs? My ticket for Pittsburgh sez no cameras, I hope that means with a flash during the show!.....TimJ

The fans are taken to a hidden place where they can talk a few minutes with the performers. This is quite insane, if you want my opinion.

This is quite insane, if you want my opinion. I agree. As much as I would cherish meeting Hayley, the meet and greet environment strikes me as the last way I’d want to do it. Shuffle you in, say your niceties, shuffle you out. On the other hand, it may be the only way to meet Hayley for those of us who get her so infrequently here on the wrong side of the pond.

Hi socalboy, I have only been to one meet and greet (long before I knew Hayley) and it was exactly as you describe. We had barely said hello before we were ushered towards the exit even though we had guest tickets. For those who didn't, I doubt if their feet touched the ground. Roger

Well, maybe I should order an HWI shirt and wave frantically to her from the 8th row of the Greek Theatre. On second thought…

I really agree... there is no way I would pay for a meet and greet. Talk about a forced interaction... Now if Hayley comes out on her own accord just to say Hi that would just be ultimate coolness on her part Is anyone else on here going to the Detroit (Fox Theatre) performance (April 3rd I think it is)... My ears are really looking forward to hearing Hayley sing. Even if she is still nervous by that time it will be okay since it would just be icing on the cake to just see her in person up there... and we will support her no matter what!

Now if Hayley comes out on her own accord just to say Hi that would just be ultimate coolness on her part I don't know her, but from what you folks said, I'm pretty sure she would gladly do it without any financial compensation even if she's exhausted. But I doubt the CW management would allow her to do it.
