The Celtic Woman Tour--an ensemble performance trek featuring the talents of five female Irish vocalists--will return to North America in February to kick off a lengthy 2007 tour.

The group--featuring vocalists Chloe Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Meav Ni Mhaolchatha, Orla Fallon, Mairead Nesbitt and recent addition Hayley Westenra--will launch its trek with back-to-back shows in Tampa, FL, starting Feb. 14. The tour will hit over 50 cities on an outing scheduled to run into late May.

Essentially the Celtic music equivalent of the Lilith Fair, the Celtic Woman Tour is the brainchild of Sharon Browne and Dave Kavanagh of Celtic Collections, Ltd., an Ireland-based independent record label. The pair, along with musical director David Downes, conceived the tour "to showcase the talent of great Irish female singers and performers," according to the Celtic Woman website.

The ensemble recently released an album of Christmas songs. "A Christmas Celebration," which hit stores Oct. 3, entered the Billboard World Music chart in the No. 1 position in November, knocking the group's previous, self-titled effort out of the top spot, a position that album had held for 81 weeks.

The collective is set to unveil a new studio album in January with the release of "A New Journey."

I have been thinking about these concerts. Celtic Woman is coming right to my city on February 21. But that's only five days before Hayley's album is supposed to be released, so I doubt she would be there.

Isn't Hayley supposed to be at the concert on March 17 in NY? If she is joining the tour then, I think that would mean she would be at the next concert on March 23 in Charlotte, NC.

So I'm thinking it would be wiser for me to go to the one in March instead of the one in February. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hello Cathleen!

As far as I know at the moment, Hayley is unlikely to be with Celtic Woman in Greenville on 21st February, but she should be there for the concert in Charlotte on 23rd March. We will post more information when we have confirmation from Hayley's management, so watch this space.

Hi!

As far as I know Hayley is joining Celtic Woman on March 17th for the show in NYC. I've heard rumors of her joining them a week early, so she'd be there for the March 11th show in Boston, but that's still rumor. I'll let you know when I know. I'm not sure which other shows she's going to be in (other than the one in March), but I would think she would stay with them for most of the tour.

Steve Abbott told me last week that Hayley will be joining the tour in Boston (approximately one week earlier than previously indicated) and it is expected that she will see it through to the end. If that is so, every venue listed from 9 March until 22 May *should* include Hayley.

At canterbury, Steve Abbott said Hayley would have a show in New York City on March 20, I hope its true, and there is room in the schedule. I know its probably too early but i"ll be watching for details!......TimJ

If Hayley is going to promote her album in April, do you think she'll be leaving the tour after at the end of March? Since there's a Celtic Woman show in Seattle (3hrs drive from Vancouver) early May, was planning to see it... looks like I'll miss Hayley for the second time

Hi Tim,

The show in NYC is on March 17th (St. Patrick's day). It's at Radiocity Music Hall. Tickets are on sale through PBS right now and are $125 for a ticket. You can wait to go through ticketmaster but the seats through PBS are generally better.

That is one superb venue. It is a long time since I was there but i likened it to an Emrald City experience (Wizard of Oz) and the auditorium seemed cavernous.

Just picked up a ticket to the Milwaukee tour date. It doesn't seem to be confirmed whether Hayley will be at this one (she might be in New Zealand doing promotions in April), but I figure that Celtic Woman is worth going to see with or without Hayley (don't get me wrong though, I hope Hayley will be there). I ended up getting row 14 for $55 ($70 once TicketMaster tacked their ridiculous fees on ). I didn't go through PBS (which is why I went with Milwaukee instead of Chicago).

Has anyone confirmed whether Hayley will be partaking in the tour in April?

Thanks for the information. At the worst I will find out when the concert starts. I would like Hayley to be there, but either way it will be a great concert. So it certainly won't be a waste of money if is she isn't.
