Strange no one has commented on the shafting that the U s took in that game yesterday. I could be wrong but I think the deck is stacked against us. Heard a lot of crying when we tied England; but no one seems too to be too upset about the preposterous call made by that sleepy eyed ref that denied the U S a well deserved victory over Slovenia. Larry :2fun: Take the ref to Utah

The way England is playing you would think one of the wifes or girlfriends is behind the goal like the Spanish lol.

The way England are playing, you'd wish the WAGS were playing instead of them. Could they do any worse? Algeria were by far the better team and unlucky not to win.
The complete lack of tactical ability displayed by Capello and his sheer inability to even recognise who his best players are (Joe Cole!) is painful to behold... but is it as bad as the 'players' themselves? Probably not. I've never seen a worse shower of useless oafs playing for England.

Larry - yeah, the US were robbed. There's no way that goal should have been disallowed.
***
Germany v Serbia - someone was always going to be off that pitch by the end. Talk about a bad tempered match! I'm only surprised the sending offs stopped at one.

Hi all
What a game! NZ 1-1 Italy ... One of the greatest moments in New Zealand football!

Hi Joe and all, Indeed it was - well the greatest, in fact! They have the same points (2) to date after 2 games as England, USA... and World Champions Italy! The substitute they brought on near the end Andy Barron is a full-time Bank clerk! For posterity, here's a screenshot I took about 5 seconds before the final whistle: Cheers, Dave

They are already the best team in NZ history - and one step away from the knockout stages! Great time to be a NZ fan!
Unfortunately for me, I'm an England fan. Sigh!

Enjoy your day Kiwis! You deserve it. I'm happy for you. I hope you can qualify for the next round. I think your team deserve my support much more than that embarrassing bunch of overpaid prima donnas that masquerades as the best of English football.

Too few points to make it under the last 16. So a win against Ghana on Wednesday is a must. Let's hope for the best. Anyway, good luck for England against Slovenia! Thomas

I don't believe in luck. I only hope for fair refereeing, and that the best team wins.
From what I have seen so far, that team is probably Brazil. They won tonight, despite an appalling red card decision by the ref.

Algeria were very good on the ball. I thought they were more likely to create something than England, who were restricted mainly to long range shooting. I decided to give live World Cup action a miss today. It proved a wise decision, as I witnessed two excellent games of hurling instead. I arrived home expecting to hear of an Italy win. But, what a result for New Zealand against the World Champions! The Kiwis seemed to deal with everything the Italians could throw at them. Great result. These kind of results is what makes the World Cup memorable.
