Congratulations to the Dutch, a brilliant win over Brazil today.
Got to feel for Ghana, so close against Uruguay tonight.
I like Holland but I have to back Spain - I have £10 double on Spain with David Villa as top scorer.

Ruddy penalties again... Grrr...
I hate the way that a pi$ece of blatent cheating, a handball on the goal line, kept Uruguay in the World Cup. The ref did the right thing in sending the perpertator off, but a certain goal was replaced by a penalty that was missed. And this was too late in the game to make the loss of an opposing player count.
In this case the referee did not have the power to do what was right, award the goal, or preferably TWO goals to Ghana.
Sometimes, I think football is an awfully unjust game...

Congrats to Holland. Hopefully you will beat Uruguay next and reach the finals. Now to see if Paul the Octopus has picked correctly for Germany to win.

Me too, mate, and no football tomorrow as well! I expect another nl-nil draw and penalty shootout, great teams in the quarterfinals. Cheers, Joe Hi all, WOW that was a great match Uruguay v. Ghana I stood in front of the TV during the last minutes of extra time and the shootout! The other qfinal match was good as well, the Netherlands has excellent defense throughout. Joe

I never expected NL to win this match against Brazil. I'm hoping for the best, but it's best not to become 'greedy'. Though I'm pretty happy!
The match between Uruguay and Ghana was quite boring. I started to wonder if it would ever end!
I look forward to the next match on tuesday!

Well, Netherlands is not far away from winning the WC now.
I'm also very delighted to see Joyce's spirit and support regarding the Holland team, haha!
Now, we just need to see what happens next.

Great win for Holland over Brazil. I was expecting Brazil to win the World Cup.
I think most players would have done what Luis Suarez of Uruguay did. If his team-mates beat Holland, he'll be available for the final.
However, FIFA are considering giving him a two-match ban. That would mean he'd miss the final if Uruguay got there, which would be a shame.

Looking forward to Argentina v Germany. It could be the best match of the tournament. We know this young German side is good. Today we'll find out how good.

Well, Netherlands is not far away from winning the WC now. Hello Anshita! England certainly went down in the WC. Our team weren't flushed with success, they were only a flash in the pan! Richard

Well done to Germany, they are through to the semi finals after beating Argentina 4-0! They are looking very impressive.
Made me feel a little better about our result last week - at least we scored! Germany were good against England but I thought they were even better today, brilliant to watch.
Should Spain win later tonight then Germany v Spain is going to be a cracking semi final, the two best passing sides at this World Cup.

I was quite pumped throughout the match between Germany and Argentina! Haha, it was quite intense. The German team is very commendable though. I have a feeling that the final would be between Germany and Holland.
Though, I feel Argentina really didn't do well. They're quite a team, but seems like their defence and passing wasn't good enough. Though, I was especially impressed by Messi. His football skill is really remarkable. No wonder he is currently the best soccer player in the world!
Though, we'll see what happens in the match tonight: Spain and Paraguay. Fingers crossed!
- Anshita
