OK, I've tweeted her the link to Rory's recording and to this thread. Hope she likes it.

Hi Rory, I agree with Martin, sounding a bit like Cat Stevens early material which is a good thing, Hayley did sing his arrangement of Morning is broken. I followed Cat Stevens through most of his carreer in the late sixties to the present day Me too. And I know that that piano arrangement of Morning has Broken was by Rick Wakeman, who also played piano on the record. Credit where it is due. Martin D

Thanks Martin! I've retweeted some of your links. I'm going to tweet it myself at a different time so there's a greater likelihood that she'll see it from one of us. P.s. Just wanted to clarify, Carnegie Hall was the first (and only ) time I've seen Hayley live, but I first heard her when I found her English version of "Itsumo Nando Demo" and I'd known of her for awhile before the show. I mentioned this in a previous discussion awhile back but I'm not sure if you had read it so I just wanted to be sure -Rory

Hi Rory,
Ah yes, I remember you said that now. But I'm sure you were impressed by her performance at Carnegie Hall nonetheless.
Oh, and keep tweeting, the more the merrier. The best way to catch her attention is to be around and tweet back immediately when she tweets. I guess she might be turning in soon though, if not already.

Martin D Oh I was more than pleased at the concert as you can imagine. And I agree with your tweeting "strategy," I used it myself when I was trying to get her to see my "Talk to Me" cover. Alas I don't think she did, but she gets so many tweets, I've seen. We talk alot here about her lack of super-stardom but she sure has alot of twitter fans! Including one guy who just says "hi Hayley" to everything she tweets lol -Rory

Well, I tweeted it myself today in hopes that she will conveniently return to twitter and see it. If we really wanna get Hayley's attention, more of us should join in!

Yes, it will be worth having another go when she re-surfaces. She doesn't usually do much at weekends though.

Or perhaps Dave could send it to her management as Richard suggested. Let's not let this thread's purpose go dormant for a year again! -Rory

On second thought I just read your tweet, Martin. Perhaps we should wait until Hayley is home like you said

Hi guys I've been working on this song lately, and as I wrote it I began to realize how much Halyey's music actually inspired it. It reminds me of a few songs on Treasure, actually. lol Maybe Hayley could sing this one too . Give it a listen if you'd like: soundcloud.com/rorycosgrove/all-clear/s-Ipenu-Rory

Thank you Joe! In fact, this song is quite a departure from my usual writing style, but it sorta just came out. Right from the beginning it reminded me of a few of Hayley's songs, so I kept it in that direction (and couldn't resist throwing the line "river of dreams" in -Rory

She, along with many others, has become someone whom I wish to someday meet and hopefully collaborate with, thus filling me with drive to accomplish my life's goals -Rory
