I like it Taylor! I was actually planning on tweaking that and a few other lines anyway because they used the same word twice

Fantastic work, Rory! Once you've made your final recording, we will definitely send the link to Hayley, and Dave could send it to her management too. Well done! Best wishes, Richard

Hi Rory I liked it very much and would not need much change prior to a formal recording. It reminds me of Cat Stevens who was a big star here in the UK during the seventies.

Hi guys, here's the recording. Please let me know if you'd like me to add more to it. My bass is at my Dad's house, so I was not able to record a bass track today, although being only a reference recording, it may not need it. I tried to mimic orchestral strings after the first chorus lol, but it came out a bit odd. Sounds interesting though. And the drums are the best I could do - I'm not too keen at programming them . So let me know your thoughts and I'll be happy to make any necessary changes, or if you're content with this version for its purpose, feel free to share it soundcloud.com/rorycosgrove/free-1/s-G0IJdP.s. Once again, I apologize for my poor singing: I'm not a fantastic singer to begin with, but this song is out of my ideal range and vocal style. Hopefully you can still appreciate the melodies -Rory

Hi Rory,
Greetings from Ireland.
I listened to your 1st version of Free this morning and thought,
That's good for a phone recording. (Took me a while to find the > Play button, I thought that was part of the banner or page design )
Just listened to your 2nd recording, Wow ! That sounds great. Good on ye.
I agree with Martin, sounding a bit like Cat Stevens early material which is a good thing, Hayley did sing his arrangement of Morning is broken. I followed Cat Stevens through most of his carreer in the late sixties to the present day

I only read this thread in full just now.
Nice contribution Martin, how does it feel to have your songwriting put to music eh ?
Hah Hah I'm disgusted now that I made no contribution to it..

Interesting thought Taylor, and thanks! It'd sure be something if Hayley actually did sing it -Rory

Well now that the song is finished, could we have some of the people here on Twitter send the link to Hayley? If multiple people send her the same thing, she is more likely to see it. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Yes, we could tweet it to Hayley, or Dave cold use his HWI links. But we shouldn't until Rory says he's happy with it.
Yes, I like the new recording.

Martin D I am happy with it, I just wanted to make sure you all were because we all wrote the song together, remember? So if everyone thinks it's worth letting Hayley hear, don't hesitate to share it! -Rory

OK, who is gonna be first? I feel it needs a bit longer explanation than is possible on Twitter. Or perhaps just point her at this thread. Maybe I'll have a go in multiple tweets.
