Vanessa, you don't have to go to Ebay, you can buy the book at this NZ online store: www.newzealandbooks.co.nz/Just search for Hayley Westenra, and it's the only thing that appears.

Hi,Vanessa.
If you're in Australia, i suggest you should have the book from New Zealand, there are several options. When i said Ebay before, i didn't realize you're from Australia. I think delivery from NZ to Australia is possible within one week.

Hello Vanessa, and a belated welcome to the forum! You might find this interview helpful with your project. Hayley mentions bullying, and I don't think she says much more about it in her autobiography. Good luck! Richard

Hi Libby,
I get the impression that she had a bit of a struggle with the low notes in "We'll Meet Again". It sounded that way at the Poppy Appeal launch last year, but by the time she got to the Albert Hall, she had nailed it. She still didn't use huge power, compared to say Vera Lynn, but there was enough.

I liked the Alan T. (forgot how it's spelled) show better, because you can hear her better, and shse sings the whole thing. I guess she's still not all that strong on really low notes, but then she is still considered a soprano. I like the "don't know WHEN" part best.

Hi Vanessa
Hayley is very patriotic and loves her homeland very much - so I suspect she might choose images of New Zealand if she were doing it herself. The film "100% Pure New Zealand" on Hayley's DVD is superb and would, I'm sure, fit the bill.
Best wishes Grant

In Google images, I always come across a photo of Hayley at some fundraising event for the Act Against Bullying. The link to the website doesn't seem to work anymore; you can't even enlarge the photo anymore. However, I found this article advertising the event, which was a polo tournament: www.localberkshire.co.uk/articles/1/1444Again, it's not all that informative as far as Hayley, other than just mentioning her support and attendance, but that's all I could find.

I think she explained the part about the teachers in just a little more detail in her book, In Her Own Voice. I'll look up that part. The teachers themselves would be sarcastic with her about how long she was planning to stay, or something. I'll find it.

The teachers themselves would be sarcastic with her about how long she was planning to stay, or something. I'll find it. Purely out of the top of my head I think it went something like this. "Oh, you're here, Hayley. How nice of you to drop in on us. Do you intend staying with us long?" Peter S.

Yes, Peter, I think that's about right. I still haven't found the time to look for it, but I will sometime. I was forced off-line for a couple days, too, due to a trojan. Vanessa, "homework" on Hayley is what I do so often, anyway. Hayley is my main reason for using a computer! And I just told Grant he was obsessed.
