Hi Martin,
I forgot this was on ITV last night. I still have to catch up with week 2's performers.
I will have a look at Olivia's performance as well!
Cheers, joe

Wait for the newspapers to start raving. Works every time!

Yes, Elliot, it is the SuBo hype all over again. Olivia was pretty good though I thought.

They also brought us Faryl. It's not always more hype than is deserved

They also brought us Faryl. It's not always more hype than is deserved And Connie Talbot in the first series! Olivia was brilliant! Loads of confidence and emotion in her voice! The boygroup Connected were very good as well. Now, is there a week 4, or does it go straight to the semi-finals ? Cheers, Joe

Might as well cut straight to giving Olivia the title as far as I can see. But then, I thought the same with Faryl and look how that turned out...

I thought Olivia was just amazing. If you just listen to the performance, you wouldn't even know she was nervous. I think she is definitely the best singer on BGT this year, and Simon Cowell has a right to be impressed.

After reading the raving here I checked her out. Obviously she can sing but I don't understand why she would be picked out above any other singer. She seemed ordinary to me. She reminded me of Lauren Waterworth, though (but I don't think she's as good as LW).

I said she was better than the other singers on Britain's Got Talent this year, which isn't all that hard to do. Both Christopher Stone and Chloe Hickinbottom did not have as much control of their voices, and neither did they put as much emotion into their performances. But that's just my opinion. I'm fine if people disagree with me. I still think Hayley is the best.

Well, Olivia can sing in tune and has good control. That is more than can be said of some well known singers. But then, I think listening to Hayley's perfect pitch and precise control so much has probably made me over-critical of others.

Hi Nicola Thats the reason I never watch those shows. I don't think the viewers of these shows really know what constitutes real talent.

Olivia's not a Classical singer, so of course her voice isn't going to stand comparison with the likes of Hayley (As if anyone's does) or Faryl.
What she has got is a very good Pop voice and especially so for a fourteen year old. Not the best fourteen year old Pop singer I've heard (That would be Miley Cyrus, three years ago) but certainly good enough to impress and with a very pleasant tone. It's a perfect voice for Pop ballads.

One thing I did notice when I was re-watching Faryl's BGT audition today was the way the audience was completely silent throughout. Do any of the regular BGT watchers know if that has happened for any other performer/artist? Or is it just Faryl?

Hi Elliot
I did watch all BGT. And yes Faryl was the only act who perform and all audience were complete silent. It' really is the magic moment.

Thanks, Jacky That's a truly amazing testament to Faryl's singing ability. To hold an audience in the palm of your hand like that is truly special.

For me Chris Stone still leads the field with Olivia a close second. Even Sulky Simon said he was very impressed, despite being in one of his moods throughout the show.
