Jim... Having watched Spellbound, I think you're right: they'll win. They're circus-style acrobats rather than a dance troupe really, but their acrobatics are incredible. I couldn't honestly believe what I was watching at some points. Likely winners, but there's a definite limit to the careers of even the very best dancers, gymnasts & acrobats. The best you're going to get is one DVD, which is unlikely to sell all that well as there's really a limit on how long most people will sit and watch that kind of thing at a time, however good they may be. I think Simon will be crying if another dance troupe wins this year! Talk about affecting his income!

Hi all BGT'ers Chloe Hickinbottom sang a beautiful rendition of "Moon River". Gorgeous! I couldn't believe that Janey Cutler aged 81 will be in Saturday's final I'll save my prediction for the winner when we know tonight's last two hopefuls! Joe

Let me help you out Joe...................
Unless England win the World Cup (ha!) tonight's show will pull in the biggest TV audience of the year so for those of you who have a life and haven't been watching thus far, here's a quick guide to the final.
Spelbound. Bookie's favourite and we all know what happens to them. Very skilful gymnastic troupe. Very dedicated too. They even train on New Year's Day while the rest of us are drunk.
Tobias Mead. What I know about streetdancing could be written on the head of a pin but the way he consoled Olivia Archbold in the semi suggests he is a thoroughly nice chap.
Tina and Chandi. The ten pound dog from a rescue centre has more talent than some humans who "earn" millions and if she sinks her teeth into Simon Cowell's leg, victory is assured. With a first prize of £100,000 the dog and her owner would certainly winalot. (Alright, I'll keep my day job.)
Connected. 10 year old boy band saved in the semi by Simon Cowell. Anyone would think he was going to offer them a recording contract.
Paul Birling. Impressionist. He does Harry Hill and Alan Carr. OK if you like Carr and Hill. I don't.
Christopher Stone. Potentially the class act of the evening. I've thought all along the 28 year old accountant is the best singer in the competition and I really hope he can win.
Janey Cutler. The 81 year old singing granny is a credit to her generation. My mum wants her to win but it will be a major shock if she does. There are better singers in this final and better singers than Janey have lost in the past (Connie Talbot, Faryl Smith, Susan Boyle). Older viewers will love her but it is younger voters who always decide the outcome of this competition.
Twist and Pulse. Streetdance duo who add humour and imagination to their act. The likely winners due to their huge teenage following.
Kieran Gaffney. Gutsy young drummer back after losing out last year. Very popular in his semi but probably less popular with his next-door neighbours.
Liam McNally. 14 year old boy soprano. Good voice but for me not quite the angelic sound of Andrew Johnston who came third 2 years ago. The irony is people of Liam's age don't vote for his kind of act. He'll need the support of older folks but they don't vote in sufficient numbers on shows like this, dare I say because they have more sense ?
CONCLUSION ? If voting were restricted to the over-40s the singers would have a better chance of winning. It seems a long time ago when Paul Potts won the first series of BGT. Since then young streetdancers have come to the fore often at the expense of more talented singers. Much as I want Chris to win, it would be no surprise at all to see Twist and Pulse or Tobias Mead take the prize. Barring accidents, Spelbound also merit respect.

Thanks Jeff! I haven't watched it hardly at all this year. I tuned in on Tuesday and was bored out my mind. I liked the dog but the rest were dull.
I have looked up some finalists on Youtube.
I've seenL Kieran Gaffney - boring. Liam McNally - didin't sound good to my ears. Andrew Johnston much better. Twist and Pulse - raised one or two smiles from me, but bored of dance acts Christopher Stone - Heard his audition, but not his semi-final. I really liked him at the audition. Didn't understand why Simon was so rude as to interrupt his performance. Connected - boring. Simon will get them signed, if not to him, then to some other company. Found it funny he criticised their audition for their mums setting them up, but then HE set them up for the semi - how else were they singing a song that a friend of his wrote and that no one else has heard?! Tina and Chandi - I love dogs - but the act is limited. Very cute though. I think I read that Chandi has won Crufts and all that - how much more glory does she need? Spelbound - want them to win. Acrobatic group is different, and their act is unique. My mouth is wide open everytime I watch them. Wish they would stop using Syco music for their performances though!

Hi all, I don't know what was worse, Miley Cyrus's performance the other night or some of the acts that placed in the top 3! Kieran Gaffney's third place was a complete shock! Twist and Pulse were OK. Spelbound, well, it was a good act. Now I know where the other "l" in Spel'£'bound went i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Tobias Mead was my favorite to win BTW. I quite liked the series this year. Let's hope Piers' good mood lasts for America's Got Talent, which began last week. Joe

If you thought Miley was bad, you should listen to the album version rather than the live version. Well, actually, you shouldn't. It's electroniced to death and will make your ears bleed. It actually sounds vastly better when she sings it live, as on BGT. I guess this counts as an aural health warning

Hello Elliot! The name "Simon Cowell" is a good enough warning for me! Richard

No singers in the Top3 so no surprise there then !! The issue I have with Spelbound is yes they're a great watch (if you're not worried about someone getting injured) but what they do is basically sport rather than a variety act. These young gymnasts are off to the Olympics in 2012 where they will have a second chance of fame and glory whereas for the other acts in the final this was their one and only chance of stardom.

I'm not sure if I can post this here, though I saw America's Got Talent mentioned here, I thought it wouldn't matter if I post about this here... July 9th, our version 'Hollands Got Talent' started and I'm not really a fan of these programs, though I did noticed that suddenly more 'opera' singers came into the spotlight. I think it has something to do with Susan Boyle's fame last year, I don't know. Though there was this young lady 'Gaby' 20 years old, who sang 'O Mio Babbino Caro.' This song was pretty familiar, and I remembered hearing Hayley singing this too! Here's a link to the official video (no Youtube) www.rtl.nl/components/shows/hollandsgottalent/miMedia/2010/week30/vr_gaby.avi_plain.xml I hope to hear your opinion about it. Though please consider this young lady was very nervous, and hasn't sung for 2 years(!) And ofcourse...she's no Hayley... I thought she did pretty well Sharon*

Sharon,
I tried, but I'm getting something that looks a bit like 'this video cannot be played'. I think it needs some kind of special software. Weird, as my Java is up to date, but still...

Elliot,
You can find the video on Youtube under the name 'Holland's Got Talent Gaby.' There are at least 3 videos available to watch, though I can't put a link here, obviously these are 'stolen' versions.

Sharon, Thanks She's a bit weak voiced for opera, IMO, but she has excellent tone. Very sweet sounding. I can see why you like her
