If you use a GPS navigation device you can now have celebrities do the talking! Wouldn't it be cool to have Hayley's voice telling you to "turn right" or "take the next exit" as you drive?
How to do this? I haven't the faintest clue, except that it would be a wonderful thing if it were made available. I would snap one up,

Or you could have your wife's/girlfriend's/mother-in-law's voice, for when she isn't with you. Can it also be programmed to make sarcastic observations about your driving??

Garmin's headquarters is here in my town and I could make that suggestion on your behalf. It might become a new product offering for them and you could get a commission. Imagine the repeat business from purchasers who threw the thing out the window and replaced it with the non-"mother-in-law" version. Bill

Hello everyone I think this is a great idea - using Hayley I mean, not the Mother-in-Law! Hayley is superb as a story-teller and narrator, so she would excel as the voice of a sat-nav. What's more, on those long stretches where no directions are needed, she could sing a song or two! Best wishes Grant

I think that might get confusing Grant. What with my mobile's Pokarekare Ana ringtone, the CD player playing Hayley and a sat nav doing it as well! But at least any scarcastic passengers wouldn't get a word in!!! Martin D

Yeah, her voice would be more pleasant and interesting to listen to than the lady's voice my sister has on her Garmin. But then if you don't obey her, she'd would have to yell, "Recalculating! Recalculating!" at you.
My sister did say that a friend of hers was able to select a man's voice with an accent on her device, so there might be other voice options available on the device you already have.

Hello folks! There would be a great temptation to ignore Hayley's directions to see if you can wind her up. She might have to enlist a Dalek to say: "If you do not obey, you will be exterminated!" Richard

That might tempt me into actually buying a satnav - so far i hate the things, there's nothing wrong with an out of date mapbook

If I want to hear Hayley when I'm driving, I think I'd rather just stick a CD in the stereo!

Exactly! She giggles too much for that, anyway.

Hello folks! When you switch the sat nav on, Hayley will sing "Are you going to Scarborough Fair?" If she starts singing "We're walking in the air", you're in serious trouble! Richard

No Richard, She will sing "This road is yours to take, Look ahead" Martin D

Or she'll say "keep your eyes on the road ahead", even though the song says "I keep my eyes..."

I'd crash. I'd be so busy playing with the satnav to get Hayley to sing that I'd forget to look where I was going!
