Hi everyone, Bedlam Management has confirmed this concert at Portsmouth Guildhall as part of the 2010 Battle of Britain 70th anniversary tour. "Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary Tour featuring forces songbird Hayley Westenra and the Central Band of the RAF."

Just down the road from me and, i think, a "first" for Hayley in Portsmouth! Dave

Hi Dave
Just booked central seats in front row. Strangely, these were in row "A", unlike other venues! Are'nt I the foolish one for thinking row "C" at Croyden was not the front row. Online booking was "down" so had to 'phone. Unlike you, this is a short "hop" across the water for me. Hope to see you there?
cheers
Tony

Hi Tony, Yes I'll be there - this will be the first time Hayley's been to Portsmouth I suspect, and undoubtedly her closest ever to the Isle of Wight! See you there! Cheers, Dave

Hi Tony, Dave and everyone You can add me to the list too! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Just booked A26. Anyone thinking of staying over should be aware that it is 'Graduation Week' so accommodation may be scarce. I've pushed the boat out for this one and booked myself a room at the Ibis Bit expensive but seems to be the only hotel remotely near the venue. See you there! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, Mine doesn't either, and neither does the Ticket Purchase section of the(ir) website! The concert description, which is on another link mentions it ("features Hayley Westenra and RAF Central Band") but as some people may go straight to "purchase tickets", I'm going to tell the concert hall they could miss out on some sales by leaving her off there. It looks like there may not be enough room on the ticket to fit in another line of names but perhaps we should all mention it to them? Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, When I was booking for Nottingham the Box Office rep said " We have only sold about 4 so far, but when the news gets out that Hayley Westenra is performing it will soon sell out ! I'll quote this post from the Photography thread: Hi Joyce I'll be in Portsmouth, Croydon and Cardiff. Hope I see you. But no long searches for food like as in Belfast. ha ha Larry Hi Larry
There will be no problem in Portsmouth! Gunwharf Quays is a half mile from The Guildhall. There are at least 20 restaurants there, Portugese, Chinese, Indian, Pizza, Tapas, Frankie&Benny's .........
Cheers
Tony

Need Help!!!!! Anyone know a hotel between the bus station and the concrt hall . If so please let me know. Thanks Larry Hi Larry, I think there's only one major hotel in the city centre, the Ibis. www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-1461-ibis-portsmouth-centre/index.shtmlIt's less than 5 minutes walk from "Portsmouth and Southsea" train station, 3 minutes from the Guildhall concert hall. If you get a bus, you want to get them to set you down at the hotel itself, or at that train station. Do not go to The Hard (Harbour) train and bus interchange, which is a mile away. Good luck! Dave

Need Help!!!!! Anyone know a hotel between the bus station and the concrt hall . If so please let me know. Thanks Larry Hi Larry I have sent you a PM. I presume you are travelling by bus ( Greyhound or National Express) to Portsmouth? If travelling from London you can can travel for £1.50 by train (Megatrain) or Greyhound but have to book well in advance. Greyhound and National Express go to the Hard Interchange. I find this a comfortable walk to the Guildhall but then I walk 7 miles a day. I will be walking that route on the day of the concert. The Keppels Head Hotel nearby has a single room with breakfast for £65, The Ibis is £70 for room only. Let me know from where you are travelling and I can provide the necessary information. cheers Tony

WARNING Hi everyone, The Portsmouth Guildhall concerts information page for this concert on 23 July is currently showing the following message: However, the site is still allowing you to purchase tickets. In view of the message and the two known concerts cancellations reported by Grant, the Portsmouth concert is another possibile cancellation. Box Office is currently closed, I have raised a query with Hayley's management and hopefully we will learn more on Friday. I have tickets for this concert. Dave

Hi Dave & everyone I am so sorry to hear this Dave, Hayley doesn't do that many concerts down your way either. In fact, I had ruled out this concert up until a few days ago but our plans have changed' which means that I could have made this date and I was actually planning to book later tonight Anyway, I guess we will wait to see what bedlam has to say about it. Best wishes Mark
