Hi everyone, and thanks John for the "heads-ups" on this Anthem event. Well I did record the TV show as I hoped I could and Hayley was mentioned in the introduction, then soon after the show started, she was shown in a short interview clip then singing Pokarekare Ana, sung wonderfully well. Later in the show, there was another short interview clip followed by her brilliant a capella rendition of Amazing Grace that is rapidly becoming the highlight of her shows! Finally, after another short interview clip Hayley took a prominent role in the final peformance of "Land of My Fathers" - the Welsh National Anthem... sung in Welsh of course. So the good news is that although two of Hayley's songs weren't shown in this 40 minute TV special, they picked out the best two, Hayley played a prominent part in the show and... everything she sung was "live" with a "live" orchestra on stage. No backing tracks! There's a fair bit of capturing, editing work and file conversion involved in making a video from this and I want to do a good job as in what was shown, Hayley was in fine voice. So bear with me while I put it all together - hopefully tonight but if not, by Sunday.. Cheers, Dave

Hi Rodders! Well here are the two songs Hayley performed, the quality is certainly good enough for now though I may be able to improve on this tomorrow. I may well post an extended version too later today, including the introduction and finale - the Welsh Anthem itself, in which Hayley participated. My reservations about this performance after hearing the initial live radio feeds have almost completely gone, this was a very good performance by Hayley... and she seems to have thoroughly enjoyed it! So, for your delectation and delight... here is: Pokarekare Ana (3m 50s, 414 kbps, 11.7 MB) Amazing Grace (2m 9s, 414 kbps, 6.6MB) Cheers, sleepy Dave at 4 am zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (links now switched to hwi.net)

Many thanks for your efforts, Dave! I agree that the televised sound was far superior to that on the radio broadcast. Hayley looked and sounded stunning, and there was no sign of tiredness there, although I still don't know how she does it all! Now I'm really looking forward to the clip of 'Land of my Fathers', but please don't rush it, Dave! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGraeme, that was the vocalise version of 'Pokarekare Ana', as featured on the UK bonus CD edition of 'Pure'. When Hayley sings it as a duet, it is usually a different arrangement with a choral section in the middle. She also raises the pitch by an octave on the last line. There is a live duet with Russell Watson on the Australian bonus CD edition of 'Pure' which has this arrangement. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for these super videos - and delivered to the forum so promptly at considerable personal expense! If you have bags under your eyes when we meet up on Tuesday, we'll all know why!
Like you, the video quality shows that these were indeed excellent performances. I hope we are in for similar treats at Cadogan Hall and Wisley.
Regards
Stuart

Thanks Richard, I didn't know the rearranging for the PA duet but that seems to make sense. We have the DVD with the Russel-Hayley duet & it gets regular repeat performances at our place. I love the endurance test at the end!!! Spectacular..
I was totally stunned by the beauty of HW's singing on Dave's clips. What adjective do you use when you want to go better than staggeringly beautiful??
In fact my wife & I sat here & watched those clips a few times & were both thoroughly 'Westenwowed'.
I'm speechless & that's unusual for me....Graemek
Incidentally I love that Aled Hayley interview....fascinating!!
