Thanks Gerrit for uploading the videos (and audio in the other thread), I've changed my links accordingly and now, I can present: The Welsh Anthem 150th Anniversary Concert - Introduction and Finale. I haven't yet had chance to enhance the video quality of the first two "Hayley" videos or these two new ones (though it's not bad) because my Sky digital box is being temperamental at the moment. The audio also needs some slight attention at the exact beginning and end, I may sort that out later on but it's minor. The intro shows only the briefest flash of Hayley in the opening titles but it's well worth watching if only for a lovely verse of 'Land of My Fathers' sung by some young children, about a minute in. The finale has quite a few glimpses of Hayley throughout it and in the middle, she leads the singing of one verse or chorus herself and can be heard clearly! You can all sing along to it in Welsh (if you can pronounce it!) as all the words are subtitled. Enjoy. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifOpening Titles and Introduction. (2m 29s, 414 kbps, 7.6MB). Finale and National Anthem. (6m 52s, 414 kbps, 20.9MB). Cheers, Dave

Absolutely magnificent. As far as I know, all the other performers were Welsh, so how did Hayley get involved, I wonder? Whatever, she sang in Welsh very convincingly. Thanks very much, Dave! Roger (at 4.21 am )

Hallo Belinda from Christchurch
Hi Belinda: I assume you'll be visiting this thread hence my question to you!
That Jan 18th Chch Townhall Concert. Both my wife & I think this gorgeous blue dress we see in these clips is the same one Hayley wore at Christchurch.
Do you agree ?

Hello again folks! That was a magnificent rendition of 'Land of my Fathers'. I've never been able to understand the Welsh language, even though my sister and most of her family live in South Wales, so I didn't attempt to sing along. It was perfectly appropriate for Hayley to take part, because I remember her saying recently that she does have some Welsh blood in her, together with Scottish, Irish, Dutch and Maori. It was certainly a great performance by Hayley and everybody involved. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Magnificent is right!!
Hayley got involved because only she could pull something like that off. That's my opinion. I was thrilled when she was moved out of her row & into the front line. She obviously enjoyed herself immensely & (dare I say it) was a joy to others!!
Bravo Hayley & Thanks once more Dave for your very prompt efforts in providing those excellent clips!! Graemek

Hi Belinda, yes Hayley does seem to be enjoying herself at the moment and it must be comforting to those of you back home in NZ, especially her family! Gerrit, thanks for uploading those clips to permanent links, I managed to squeeze them into my meagre webspace two at a time and I've now adjusted my links accordingly. I'm delighted to say that Simon has also picked up the four videos and they can all be viewed on the main HWI website from this page here: www.hayley-westenra-international.com/video-vault/2006_wmv-player/2006_video-jukebox.htmlCheers, Dave Edit: Link updated 18th August 2006

Thank you for the videos. I have just found the translation of the Welsh Anthem. The land of my fathers the land of my choice! The land in which poets and minstrels rejoice. The land whose stern warriors were true to the core, While bleeding for freedom of yore. Wales! Wales! Fav'rite land of Wales! While sea her wall, may naught befall, To mar the old language of Wales! Old mountainous Cambria the Eden of Bards! Each hill and each valley excite my regards, To the ears of her patriots how charming still seems The music that flows in her streams. Wales! Wales! Fav'rite land of Wales! While sea her wall, may naught befall, To mar the old language of Wales! My country tho' crushed by a hostile array! The language of Cambria lives out to this day! The muse has eluded the traitor's foul knives, The harp of my country survives! Wales! Wales! Fav'rite land of Wales! While sea her wall, may naught befall, To mar the old language of Wales! Raymond
