Hi all, We've all seen the recent article in Music Week last week, with two accompanying tributes to Hayley's ten years in the music recording business. Now, here is HWI's very own tribute to this decade of magic... Please reply with your best wishes for Hayley!

Hi Hayley! Congratulations on your first ten years in the music industry. It still only seems like yesterday that first time I saw you perform at St James Church in Piccadilly in September 2005 - now almost 6 years ago. WOW! Doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThank you so much for your beautiful music; for your friendship and, most of all, for being the very special person that you are. Lots of Love Grant xxx

Hi everyone. I tweeted this to Hayley last night, but she didn't acknowledge it. Hey, wasn't it Music Week, not World? Probably she is not aware of it. Remember tweeting is her output to us who follow, could she possibly be following all of us? I suspect not, why should she? Like us, she follows only those of interest to her from whom she would like to receive. I haven't checked if she follows Faryl but Faryl certainly follows her.

I know very few of you have Walking in the air.
It was recorded on the 18th of January and the 26th of February 2000,
I would consider these dates to be the start of Hayley's professional recording career,
As soon as Walking in the air went on sale in retail outlets in Christchurch, Hayley became a professional singer.
So already Hayley is more than ten years in the music industry, which in itself is a magnificent achievement when you consider many pop acts like the Spice Girls or even Abba who burn brightly, but for a shorter time.
Let us hope that Hayley's career will be more like Nana Mouskouri's, decades of steady, moderate success, Taking time off for the important other facets of a normal life, rather than a short period of worldwide fame and popularity.

If she saw it, she would be aware of it. And yes, she is following quite a few of us. Some "she" started following when she wasn't the one running it yet. But she hasn't stopped following any of her fans, plus since then, she's started following other fans, too! Those of us who use twitter on a regular basis know this. The reason she probably didn't notice it is because she probably only logged in long enough to tell us about her playsuit. However, I tweeted that message to her only a few hours before, so if she would have checked the tweets "@" her, she probably would have seen it. I know she probably gets a lot of those, but it was really only a couple hours before her post that I tweeted. So it's probably like what I said, she tweeted, and then logged out. She probably just didn't have time for much more than that.
And yes, I think Hayley is following Faryl. If you're still using the "old" twitter, as I am, you can see a lot more people she's following. I'm using the old one as long as I can, because I like it a lot better.

Hi Libby If she saw it, she would be aware of it. Hayley may genuinely not have seen your tweet - it only appeared in my timeline a couple of hours ago. In addition, you didn't mention messages at HWI but just included a link and that link doesn't work for me, so may not have worked for Hayley - Sorry! Best wishes Grant

Hi everyone, First, many thanks to Joe for your work on creating this brilliant tribute poster for Hayley's tenth anniversary. We will soon be adding it to the main HWI website as well, many congratulations to Hayley from me too. Hayley's first album for Universal NZ "Hayley Westenra" entered the official NZ charts dated 13 May 2001 at no. 10, rising to no. 1 the following week and it was still in the chart at the end of August that year, having achieved a triple platinum certification. Meanwhile, I think we should requote here Hayley's response to those of you who tweeted her with a link to this thread, so I will! Martin D was the lucky one who got the reply but thanks to all who tried. Cheers, Dave
