I have several "favourite" artists on the Classical Crossover website, and many more which I like almost as much. I want to vote for them all but I don't think they are all as good as Hayley, for instance, so a graded system allows me to differentiate between them. I don't think there are any artists which I positively dislike but there are some which don't raise any great interest in me. There are currently 98 artists profiled on the site and if there were enough hours in the day I would vote for at least two thirds of them. You might say that this is counter-productive, as I am voting against myself, but I don't see it that way; I just want to raise the profile of each of them. At least I will always have artists in the top ten which I have voted for . Actually though, there is much more to Nicola's website than the user ratings. I often don't bother to vote at all. John

Hi John,
Indded there is a lot more to Nicola's site. And she seems to be adding more and more good stuff all the time.
There are a few artists I vote for, Hayley more than anyone, but some others too, and I always give 5 stars. What I vary is how often I vote for them. If I'm in a hurry I vote for Hayley only, if I have more time I add a few others I like whilst I am at it. The non-Hayley artists I tend to go for are either Hayley related, Raven for example, or more obscure artists I would like to be better known, usually I admit ones I have seen perform live like Keedie, Isabel and Aled. There are also some artists that I like that I don't vote for even though I like them because I think they are getting enough votes already, Jackie E for example.

And there is no way most of them, perhaps any of them, deserve to be ahead of Hayley. She has been going longer and done more than any of them. But that is even more so for Sarah of course.
You know the answer. Vote for Hayley (but please don't try to cheat).

Martin D i agree though multiple voting on serious issues is wrong... i only vote 2x once for mom and me. i get permission first though. then i mailbomb to try and get oter folk around me to vote. tey ask dumb questions like why? umm, to make hayley happy... whihc makes me happy, which improves there workijng environment. i thought that was obvious. the spiderman

I accidentally voted for Sarah Brightman yesterday, but I didn't mean to. Richard Meh, Sarah is currently quite a bit behind Hayley, so one mistaken vote won't help her much. The most immediate challenge to Hayley's current position is Annelies, who just pulled ahead of her again this week. Followed by Hollie Steel who's catching up real fast. And perhaps even Toni Gibson, if her current vote gain persists.

To be honest, to gain the benefit of our charts, the artists only need to be in the top ten. Where they place in the top ten doesn't matter, as long as they are on that page, which is the most visited page on the website. With 400,000 page views a month, that's not a small matter.

That Annelies is far too pushy - I quite like her voice but I hate the way she is forever prompting people to support her. So I don't anymore. I am one potential fan she has lost.

That's probably true for most people, but some people might check out only the top 3 or so, so higher is still better. The top 2 is currently so far ahead of everyone else it's not even funny, but #3 is still within striking distance with some persistance. That Annelies is far too pushy - I quite like her voice but I hate the way she is forever prompting people to support her. So I don't anymore. I am one potential fan she has lost. Martin D Speaking of Annelies, is it just me or does it seem like she's been in negotiations forever?

Speaking of Annelies, is it just me or does it seem like she's been in negotiations forever? Seems like it. But for someone who has not even made her first album to be so high in the chart seems wrong to me, when there are people at least as good as her that have been giving pleasure to millions for years. To update on Annelies - Sony offered her a contract, and they declined it due to artistic differences. It's not off the table though as Sony offered them to come back when a direction is sorted and that they can agree on. The album Annelies is recording is top quality stuff (I get to hear them as they're recorded), and will be shipped off to other major companies when it's ready. It's original and fresh. I can understand other people not quite understanding her if they haven't heard her music, but as someone who has, I support her 100%. You made similar observations on her forum, Martin, and I answered you there. You are all welcome to your opinions, but just another reminder that the chart is simply a reflection of fan presence on my website. It's nothing scientific and not to be taken seriously. The top ten is simply a good place to be because of the exposure it brings. xx

Looks like Hollie Steel will be 3rd by the next update... Oh well, to each their own tastes, I guess...
Nicola, artist #13 that got removed was Yulia, right? Do you mind letting us know why?

Yulia's management threatened to sue us if we didn't remove Yulia from the site.
If I say anything more than that publicly, he'll sue for "defamation".

If I say anything more than that publicly, he'll sue for "https://i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifefamation". i wouldnt worry.... its only defamation if the statement isnt true... and secondly, in NZ you can only sue for money literally lost as a consequence.. we dont have punitative damages; and it doesnt violate copyright since you arent selling anything, and havent made any money. the short version is he's being OTT. i can understand you respecting his wish and removing her from that website wot is giving her free advertising though the spiderman
